It is amazing ... now I will have to make some of the pasta sauces you all make. Unlike kelp noodles, it isn't processed ... it grows that way :heart

If you miss cooked pastas then I really recommend you try sea spaghetti. It's not got a really strong sea flavour and the texture is fabulous :eat

I might even take one of these cheap day trip tickets to Ireland and harvest some myself. The ticket would be cheaper than buying the seaweed - I will research.

With reference to the other seaweed thread - the company I bought from has labels on some of the seaweeds packets (but nothing on the website) warning of small crustacea but I found none on the sea spag. There was a small sea snail in the kelp that came also which was rather sad and also the remains of three barnacles so I will be approaching other companies to see what they can do about NOT including these animals in their produce. I do probably eat a fair few aphids in the course of a week - not on purpose but I'm sure a few slip through my close inspections.

How do you prepare it? I saw this somewhere online and was curious, but after trying some raw nori that tasted like pond water, I was a little hesitant to order! :-)

you just soak it. Hang on while I find a link ...

ok ... the quality of the filming isn't great but the recipe sounds quite good and she explains the way she prepares the sea spag.

oh and if you soak the seaweed then the pondwater taste should disappear ... I find I like the milder seaweeds best

Hi Mystic

I too have just found Sea Spaghetti and had it yesterday, I LOVE IT!! made myself raw spag bol it was lovely.
The version I got was Raw fresh sea spaghetti - however I noticed the site also sold dried sea spaghetti which seems to be popular- have you tried it? just wondered what the difference in taste was?

xx

The type I had was dried and I re-hydrated it. I don't know what the taste difference would be between the two.
