Hello all,

I've been lurking the board for awhile and I'm now ready to join in on all the fun! I'm mostly a pescatarian but would like to make the transition to a mostly raw food way of life. I'm very new to this way of eating but will give it my all. From what I have read, the benefits are worth it!

Take care and I look forward to the journey!

Welcome.
I wish you well on your transition. If there is anything we can do to help then shout out loud.
You can grow a lot of your own food. I always found fruit to be expensive in Florida which is a silly situation really. It should be more expensive here in northern Europe.

Welcome to the forum Wander! The benefits are definitely worth it. I've never felt better about my body, skin, health and just general well being and it's only really been about a week or so, amazing :)

Hello. I am in sunny Florida too. lol. Welcome. I just came here after popping in and out a bit last year. I realized raw is the healthies thing I can do for myself. I was eating seafood occasionally in the past and eat a vegan diet mostly raw now.

As far as the comment about the fruits and veggies being expensive. They can be in the super market and not so good as the farmers markets and local fruit. I am trying to grow some foods at home but it is very hot here half the year so I am still working on finding heat tolerant plants.

I am looking forward to finding good advice while I make the transition to raw.

Hope you stay here and I plan to also.

My name is Amber. I grew up on a farm in Virginia. I'm a tomboy, I love animals, music, and art. I have had lupus for 9 years and a about a year and half ago, my kidneys started to fail. I am on dialysis now.
I have spent much of my time researching answers for my illnesses. What I have concluded, and from my own personal experience, raw food is definately the ultimate answer to heal myself.
That is why I have come here. I am a lover of cooked food. I need the support of this community to help me leave cooked and convenience food for good!
