I've been about 98% raw for about 3 months now. I make all my own foods but keep it pretty simple, flax crackers are about as complex as it gets. Things are great, my body loves it. My husband and I used to go out to eat all thetime before going raw, so we've been exploring all the raw restaurants wherever we go. But every time I eat anything other than a basic salad (nut cheeses, live breads, etc), I get very sick to my stomach and nauseous.

Is it bad food combining or just my body wants more basic stuff? I would hate to give up going out and enjoying fancy meals... Any thoughts?

A lot of the raw restaurants out there use non-raw ingredients like Tamari, Nama Shoyu, nutritional yeast, etc. and then on top of it don't soak their nuts.

Could also be food combining.

I love to enjoy ONE thing at raw restaurants -- like dessert, a smoothie, an entree, but tend to find I get a belly ache if I have more too.

SEPARATELY -- nice work sticking to so much raw!! Sounds like you're doing just AWESOME!!!

Thanks!

Yeah, we usually do drinks, apps, entree and dessert... you know, go all out and try as much stuff as we can. I just enjoy having someone ELSE do all the 'cooking' for a change!! But not enjoying the tummy aches. I'll try being a little more simple with the meals like I'm used to and see if that helps. Thanks for your input, its much appreciated :)

Sure thing -- hey -- another idea! You could get some stuff that would travel well for your next day... Then you have meals that keep on giving?!

lol! Or just deal with the belly aches. That's what I usually do! lol!

Maybe you have food sensitivity like i do. I use to be ok to eat raw gourmet, now it has to be just a few ingredient. Nut has to be in moderation otherwise, i will have skin rash.

You can find many option that will be delicious in raw restaurant. My husband devour their food and he does well with any raw gourmet. When i went last time, they had wheat grass juice and coconut water. i stick to that, lol... while the rest of the family were enjoying their fancy food and smoothie.

You can request that they don't use nama shoyu, liquid aminos etc... I am sure, they will accommodate you. Ask if they soak their nuts or to make sure to have a dish where their nuts were soak. Cheese is a go normally for me because it is fermented and my body seems ok with it.

You will figure out what works for you.
