I came across an old thread about raw cocoa beans. There were allsorts of opinions about the benefits and side affects. But is there anyone who knows how the Incas used to use the raw beans? Is there any knowledge on how it affected them, either bad or good? The way it is processed into chocolate is not good as it it too processed. Is there any research about how good roasted beans still are? Is it a case of: not much goodness left, or more like a cooked tomato: lots of lycopene compared with raw tomato.
Does anyone know? I've been using raw beans for nearly 2 weeks, about 5 or 6 per day and can't say that I'm feeling any different, but also no side affects.
