Hey Guys,
I was very excited to make some raw falafels but then I got hugely discouraged when I found out that I had to give the beans 3 days to sprout. I wanted to know if there's a shortcut or no? If there is a shortcut then how are you guys making your falafels?

(added: I'm not going to be around in another 3 days. I'm not in a situation to be waiting 3 days later for my food)

and if it is so bad (which I agree it isn't) you can buy them ready sprouted.
Raw or Die? Three days vs. "a long time dead"!

l have never been able to understand the negativity when it comes to raw. l've had more challenges than anyone (being a sproutarian is a very hard life because it takes lots of extra effort to get everything right, and things always go wrong), but so be it.
l've had to travel many miles to buy special water, l need special containers to store it, l need special water ironizers, l need a special big bike pump (customized by me) to attach to special pump sprays (customized by me) to clean my sprouts in trays (also customized by me), l need special kelp/vitamin C/h2h2 solutions to spray on my sprouts, l need drills and hammers to make stuff, build shelves (customized by me), had rats eat all my food, can't go away for more than a day because l lose all my weeks food (when l get sprout bags l will have a solution to this problem), i've had food rot for weeks because of water issues etc etc (lost lots of stock), storage issues, but l keep on going. ERverything that could go wrong has gone wrong, but it will make for an amazing story. lt has taken 4 - 5 months to get organised and l still have a long way to go before everything is done. l will photograph the end result and you will all be amazed.
About 50 trays on dozens of shelves of Buckwheat, wheatgrass, pea shoots, sunflower greens. And many more shelves to be built for storage of greens that need darkness at the beginning on their lives on soil trays. And more shelves need to be built to store my sprouts on too. + the shelves need custom touches to keep the rats out. lt is taking forever to do all of this, but it will be done eventually. l also need to put filtered and ironized water into a watering can to water the tray greens on soil and other sprouts.
After all l have to do, sprouting beans for 3 days is EASY!!!! LOL.

I don't go to anything like the lengths you go to Mr Raw so it's even easier for me. I only sprout very small amounts at a time because sprouts aren't the bulk of my diet and I get phases of using them heavily and then much more light use depending on what I feel like eating.
I get a lot of greens from the garden though and this I don't really count as sprouting. This I call growing lol
I'm looking forward to seeing your set-up when you are able to share pictures of it ... video maybe??? I hope so :)

Me and some other folks are producing our own t.v show on sprouting. We will talk about why bikes pumps are needed in sprouting, why sprouting is the best thing possible and lots of other stuff. Busy busy busy....lots of preparation to do. l'm excited. :excited:

Well why else? I want to eat them the same day NOT 3 days later!

Am I you? No. I'm not being negative. I've been raw for almost a year now. Obviously we're all different with different lives, occupations, different schedules, holidays/travels coming up. Not everyone can wait for 3 days to make a specific dish. Do you understand?

I just ended up buying organic chickpeas soaked in water from WholeFoods. I actually liked the outcome, it was quick and easy. I love Cummin. They were very nice and healthy tasting. I had some chickpeas left over to make hummus, I didn't have all the ingredients so I grounded up some flaxseeds and mixed it up. It actually tasted good. I'll definitely make more in the future.

Look for fresh green garbonzo beans. Hard to find but they are raw not dried or processed yet and they make great hummus.
I found them at a farmers market.....
