I understand a cup of hot cocoa is cooked but i have read many health benefits which come from taking it, Would it have any negative effects if i maintain a 100% raw diet and including cups of hot cocoa everyday? Thank you.

From my personal viewpoint the answer is no if you want to consider yourself 100% raw. 100% is the way I follow this eating plan so I wouldn't include cocoa.

It depends on your goals. There are no raw police so take it as far as you can and want.
I drank tea for years after I went raw and still thought of myself as 100%.

I consider myself lucky in that I have never liked hot drinks such as coffee, teas, cocoa etc. I have literally never drunk a cup of tea, coffee or cocoa - my habit was diet coke. I'm so much better off it I can tell you!

I am surprised.
Tea was such a part of my childhood and such a tradition that it was hard to let go of it.
Thankfully it was just the social aspect of it that I liked as I have a very non addictive personality so it was not the caffeine. Coffee never did it for me.

lol I love tea too. I don't consider it a food though, so .... Cocoa it depends on what you are mixing it with I suppose. Don't get so caught up in being 100% raw that you forget to enjoy life though - most importantly is to avoid the processed crap the SAD entails as a first step!

Right on! Enjoy life and have a cup of cocoa if you like. But I agree, avoid proccessed crap! That is acutally my goal, raw just happens to be the best way to do it.

I was an everyday tea drinker before I went raw and a long time before the tea I drank coffee. :( After raw I switched to water and now I prefer water. Last week for the first time in a long time I wanted a cup of green tea so I got a small box and had a cup. It didn't taste good to me and now the box is just sitting there collecting dust with no desire to use it. Its nice how the body changes its preference if given the chance. :)

What matter is to focus always your accomplishment. If this help you to make the most personal healthy choice then don't worry about it. Just don't make it an excuse or drink out of guilt because it reinforce the addiction.
Here is a delicious raw version of it.
Almond milk, raw cacao, vanilla, sweetner (raw agave, raw honey or maple sirup-not raw but this isn't a fructose)
Blend well with your high power blender until it warm up.
I put a little bit of cinamon on top. I drink tha on winter only.
Just make sure to drink the healthiest version of hot chocolat. You don't want white sugar in it. It is so bad news for your body and it ages you.
Have fun with your raw journey!
