I was just thinking the other day of when I use to cook my food and eat it. I was still feeling like I wanted more, No matter how much you eat it still wanted more.
Now that I am eating raw I can eat a good bunch of raw food and not have anymore wants for more food. My body got what it wanted and that was the end of it. Then you just feel good.
Also when your body has got what it wants out of the food your eating it will not taste as good anymore. When you first start eating it just taste wonderful and then it as not so good when you have had enough. I have had that feeling with fruits many times and when I do I just stop. I Just keep learning more all the time. Like they say, Listen to your body. Well I have to go downtown and buy some Yummy food bye for now my New family friends talk at you later Doug in Calif........ :) ;) :D
Isn't that an incredible feeling? I was always hungry 24 hours a day. I wondered how I could eat SO much and still feel like I needed something... well it was because I DID need something... RAW FOOD!
But yeah, stopping eating, and not wanting any more is quite a paradigm shift for us. One we can adapt to quickly :)

How true... whenever I eat cooked that is when my cravings get 100x worse and I want more and more.
It is a great feeling of being truly satisfied after enjoying a good, raw meal or snack!

The first time this happened and I was aware of it, it felt like that moment in Star Wars where Obi Wan says to Luke - "You have taken your first step into a larger world." grin

Hey Doug -
I totally know what you mean! When I eat something cooked, not only do I have a hard time stopping, I end up feeling bloated and uncomfortable. Then, going back to raw the next day, I feel I crave more cooked food, and getting over that hump is tough. It reminds me, the hard way, that cooked food does not offer me the wonderful nutrients that raw does! Isn't it incredible to find something that feeds us so well??
Take care -

When one eats cooked food they are considered malnutrioned... people laugh at this and think hang on I eat lots but in actual fact the reason people who eat cooked can "never" get enough food in them is because their body is crying out for nutrients and until the body is satisfied with the nutrients its getting it will keep wanting more.

Isn't that a wonderful feeling??? To have an apple and be satisfied or to snack on some figs or dates and feel great afterwards...I find that when I"m on cooked foods, I would never choose to have an apple or banana or another piece of fruit.. but after being on raw I am so happy to have a piece of fruit while others are eating their junk foods.
This last weekend on my lady's night out,, I had a great salad and felt wonderful,, my sister and girlfriend had a huge cooked meal and were miserable.. I walked out smiling, and they walked out moaning
