I just got done walking 2.5 miles on my lunch and been doing it for the last 5 months and wanted to see who else does it. Since i bring my lunch everyday, i hurry and eat it and then go walking. Its a great way to get outdoors if you sit at a desk like me as i love fresh air. This doesn't count for my workout but just something i like to do on my lunch.

some lunch breaks I do but it's on my list of things to do more of. It would be the perfect opportunity to increase my bare-foot walking

Lunch break???? What's that??? I wish I got a lunch and could walk or do something physical. :-( Instead I'm sitting at a desk for 10 hours with no breaks longer than to the restroom or to the kitchen for some water.

Why don't you get breaks?

I work on a trading desk in Finance. Things move pretty quickly, so we can't be away from the desk. And recently the government instituted a rule where a trade ticket HAS to be entered within 15 minutes of executing the trade. They are tracking, and if my company reports more than 15 minutes later than the other broker, we are fined. Which means no time away from the desk. Not fun when we are buying lists of 20-80 items.

true but then I don't suppose you went into it for the fun-factor

True. Unfortunately I chose my major when I was young, and not quite the person I am today. I suppose it's a little crazy to think that 18 year olds can choose what they want to be doing for the rest of their lives.

Every day no matter the weather, I unshackle the chains and go outside from 11-11:30.....I'd go NUTS without my lunch walk!!

I thought by law you have to get breaks if you work 8 or more hours. Sounds like a stressful environment.

Technically you are. But if I want to keep my job, I just have to deal with it. And in this economy, trying to find a job wouldn't be good.
There are some days that besides the physical break of a walk, I'd just love the mental break of one!

Same here! I go for a 30-40min walk every day at my lunch break.
Its great to stop looking at numbers and to go outdoors, get some exercise, fresh air and sun. :) When I come back to work I feel refreshed and ready to finish the day.
