I've seen this recipe knocking about on the net and in books for years and I finally decided to try it. This is my first raw recipe that involves processing anything.

I have used only 1 cup sunflowers in case I didn't like it. Here are my thoughts so far . . .

It tastes ok.

It bears no resemblance to tuna in either looks, taste or texture.

I can't imagine eating the quantities I've seen in pictures. 1 tablespoon seems like plenty!

It might be a good "rice" substitute in sushi - if I can ever find raw nori sheets.

I might stuff tomatoes with it or use it as "butter substitute" in Raw sandwiches using lettuce leaves as the "bread"

It strikes me as way to eat too many sunflower seeds.

next time I try it - if I do - then I will try with just sprouted seeds rather than just soaked seeds.

How did it ever get associated with tuna?
