Hello, my name is Heather and I just joined this forum. I'm really interested in doing the June Monthly Raw Challenge. For the last month I've been scouring the internet about raw foods, organic foods, non gmo foods, and cancer prevention. About three years ago I became a vegetarian basically for weight loss reasons and it worked, I was also doing yoga. But the unexpected side effect was that I felt better and more alert than I ever had. I knew very little of nutrition and the cons of eating dairy. Last fall I learned about macrobiotics and ate that way for about three weeks, felt great but slipped back into poor eating habits. So about a month ago I saw a documentary i think called "The World According to Monsanto." And that got me started reading a couple books, watching more documentaries, and learning tons from the internet. The last couple weeks I've eaten about a 50 percent raw food diet. Things like green smoothies, macro bowls, and salads. Last night I soaked some wheat berries and mung beans for sprouting. So anyhow every day I learn new things and really hope I can be successful in adopting a raw lifestyle.
