I had 2 electric (battery) pepper and salt mills but they held like 2 tbsp and had to be refilled about monthly and their batteries recharged every few months.
I came across this beautiful pepper and salt mill in one at Canadian Tire, it's huge at nearly 16" tall and holds about 1 1/2 to 2 cups EACH of salt and pepper (I used about 150 gram of pepper and 400 grams of coarse Himalayan salt to fill both completely, the salt is much heavier obviously).
You turn the top knob clockwise for pepper and counterclockwise for salt. You can also adjust the coarseness of each independently, I like my pepper fairly coarse but my salt powder fine, and this lets me get those results perfectly.
I never thought I would love a salt and pepper mill so much but this thing is really awesome.

WOW!! I have 2 separate grinders which I love but agree that I seem to constantly be filling them. Especially the himilayan salt because it is very coarse.
The one in your picture is beauuuuutiful! I love the fact that it's almost 16" high as well.
One question please. Is the grinding mechanism ceramic or stainless steel? I've heard that ceramic (which is what I've got now) is the ideal for salt.
I'd really love to get one of these. :excited:

I got it for $24.99 at Canadian Tire and sold my 2 electric ones on eBay for $10 which paid for nearly half.
Both grinders are ceramic and adjustable coarseness.
Think I'm gonna get me one! Will definitely save on refilling and refilling. I seem to constantly top up the salt and I don't even use muh salt.

***** WARNING *****
Do not buy this pepper/salt grinder, I've had 2 break in the same way. The gears are metal so I thought it would last, but the gearbox holding the gears together is acrylic which isn't able to withstand the stresses required to grind pepper, and I've been very gentle with the 2nd one and it still broke, always the pepper side since it's harder to grind.

I don't use salt or pepper on my food so, guess I don't want/need one of those.

I have a mortar and pestel but to take that out and find my containers of salt and pepper each time I want to put a bit of salt or pepper on something would be way too much trouble for me. I use it like if I need to grind 1 tbsp of salt for a recipe yes, but I won't take it out to grind 1/16 of a teaspoon when a normal pepper/salt grinder does it in seconds.

Where do you get your minerals from? I heard you can't live without consuming some salt. I guess you consume seaweeds or something else that contains lots of minerals?
And why not pepper? In increases the absorption of nutrients and anti cancer components of food by 1000 times for turmeric for example, so your vegetables get much more of their nutrients absorbed if you eat them with a bit of pepper.
I just found this one from a more reputable brand, it was $20 more ($45 VS $25) but it built much better. It doesn't have anywhere near the capacity of the defective one but still much more than an electric mill (they have an electric version of this one too but it holds barely 2 tbsp of each, since most of the space is taken up by the 6 AAA batteries it takes):

The food I eat. You don't have to add salt to food. It's in it. And why are you focused only on salt and pepper? How many other minerals are they and where do you get them? All the minerals, fat, aminos you need are in food.

If you say so. Don't like it; never have. I eat raw red, orange and yellow bell peppers and sprinkle cayenne on my food as I found my heart likes it.
