I have been reading about raw food for some time and have been adding more raw into my diet. I come from a SAD household, and enjoy many SAD things.

I don't know if I can become a full raw vegan, but at least I'm aiming for a high raw diet. Right now I have about 50 lbs. to lose, and I suffer from migraines, some mild hair loss, and skin problems. I'm hoping that I can through a change in my diet, replenish my body with the nutrients it needs so I can heal.

I have "raw days" and although the detox symptoms can be strong, I still enjoy them. My favorite is to have a spinach and strawberry smoothie, eating mangos and lots of other fruits. It makes me happy to make better food choices, I feel calmer, and better overall (despite detox).

I'm looking forward to learning from all of you and going as raw as I can. :)

Hi. It is up to you. You can do as much or as little as you want. You should aim to improve all of the time. Never go backwards.

Thanks. :)

It's been a bit of a struggle because in my household they loooove their meat. And when I have a raw day, I struggle in making everyone see that what I ate for the day was enough, that meat and potatoes for dinner aren't necessary. Bit by bit I've been getting some of my folks on board as to why I like my green smoothies or my carrot juice, and they are even curious to give it a go. It's incredible how so many people I've come across (not just my folks) have been programmed to think that not having this plate full of things means you didn't eat.

It's an eye opener. But i've done enough research to see the benefits of transitioning to this diet, so that's what I'm striving for.

:goodday:

Do not worry. I have not eaten meat for 37 years and I am still alive and the healthiest person that I know.
