Hello All,
My name is Ryan and I am connecting with you from Scotland. I was thankfully given the link to here from someone on another forum board.
I have all day (now 19:48h here) been contemplating going raw! I have already been vegetarian for 15 months after making a massive switch in my life (long story) and fell over info this morning about this way of living. It resonates with me but obviously I have small fears of what do I eat, best choices, will it fit into my already Intuitive eating way of living and what will the detox be like HAHAHAHA
Thank you all, I need to go read read read now!!
Blessings to all
Ryan x

Hi Ryan,
I'm down south and across the border and down south a lot more in Bristol. I hope you have a good supply of raw foods where you are.
Why not join the June challenge on here ... heck join the last few days of the May challenge for practice :)

Thank You
I know there is a good organic farm about 40min drive from here and they deliver veg & fruit boxes so time to utilise this I feel. Hell, the amount of money we have spent in the past on fast food could be used for this....time to use wisely and you get no better usage really.
Challenge sounds good to me!!

Hi Ryan, and welcome! You know, the detox may not be bad at all if you've been veg for some time. :-) I've been doing raw for 2 months now after having been vegan for quite some time.. I did not have any detox symptoms, but I quickly noticed how much better I felt! I also did not have any cravings for cooked food, but I was diligent about creating things in our dehydrator that substituted for some of the cooked foods I love (breads, crackers, etc.). So yeah, you should join the last few days of the May challenge! Let us know how it goes for you!

Hi Ryan and welcome! I agree that you may have an easier detox because of your recent diet change. There is so much info on this site and others and you should be able to find recipes that suit you. Alissa's book is great if you can get it.
My raw day consists of fruit in the morning, green smoothie in mid morning, a heavier smoothie (made with almond milk, fruits, greens adn the kitchen sink) for lunch, snack and dinner is what some consider gourmet-tacos, lasagne, not tuna, guacamole and salsa etc. I work and smoothies are really convenient and portable.
Wish you the best...gotta go...got to make the ketch-up for the meatloaf in the dehydrator.

welcome welcome welcome !!!! so glad u stopped by !!! this will be the best choice u have made to change ur life , and if u work it right it really isnt that expensive unless u are a pregnant raw woman . i just spent 300 dollars on my grocery trip . that includes stuff for my half raw daughter and i wont touch ur raw food hubby , but he completely supports my way of eating so i only ask him to taste test every now and then . hehe . sorry welcome and enjoy the info on this site there is quite a lot .

Hi.
I did not have any detox symptoms as I had been vegan for sometime before making the change.
You can do this if you want to.

Thank you everyone for the tips and welcomes.
I have no smoothie maker yet (will remedy that soon) so went for a large dish of leafy greens, carrots. peppers and rounded off with a lovely sweet pear and fresh water with a slice of lemon. :woot:
The plan was to wait till I had everything in place but I am one of those "start now" types and feeling my way into this. Not saying I will be 100% raw initially but I sure am going to go a large percentage without beating myself up about the rest. If anything is cooked though, It will be healthier options....I do not eat meat et al anyway!
Wish me luck!!

Good luck!
I don't like smoothies much so I don't have them. This means I have to eat more in a bulkier form but what the heck! I have a Tardis-like stomach ;)
If you can afford one of the top-notch machines then you'd be wise to invest in one ... the one from Kenwood is not for hardcore smoothie people!
