I just know people are going to read this and roll thier eyes, but I am going to post anyway.

Been having good days and bad days, but really trying to focus on the good days. Had to have some cooked off and on due to finances and that really stirred up the cooked cravings. UGH

This weekend I have just had a lot of things on my mind and for some reason I went on a "picking" spree this morning... and NOT in the garden. I picked at everything I made for my dh and ds, including the chocolate chip pancakes. Okay, did not eat a whole one nor did it have sryup. In fact, it really wasn't even that good, but I ate on it regardless. I also tasted a peice of my ds's "turkey keilbasa"..... ewwwwie yuck and I used to love that stuff. Anyway, I refuse to beat myself up over it... been there, done that. I do regret it though and feel just "icky" now.

I just have found myself not handling situations very well and stress eating and that does bother me!

Oh well.... just had to share and get some positive thoughts sent my way. I am still stress eating, but nothing bad... I have downed about 1/2 of a watermelon instead!

Have to set my goal from this moment on to recommit to 100% raw... that is the best for me! I know there are a lot of people who do well on 100% for a time and then have periods of fluctuation from all raw to some cooked and back and forth before it finally "sticks", but I am getting impatient with myself at times!

Well, thanks for reading and thanks for the positive thoughts.

Teri,

I believe Victoria Boutenko's "12 Steps to Raw" was written for you. She was having struggles when she first went raw, so she researched and discovered it was like alcohol, drugs, any addiction. So she came up with a 12 step program to succeed.

If you go to this link, you can actually read some of the book before you buy it http://www.rawfamily.com/products.htm.

(Just saw her in person yesterday... very passionate, knowledgeable woman! I'm sure you'd get a lot out of her book!)

No matter what, I KNOW you will continue to succeed, cuz you've got the right attitude, and besides... you've seen too much already! There's no turning back ;)

Teri,

I've had a struggle that last week too. Mine was due to the Jewish holidays. I'm also on some hormone meds (temporarily) which stirred up some intense cravings. So I ate some cooked, enjoyed as much as I could (though nothing really tasted good!) and am back to raw. I even just made out my grocery list for the week and have a raw menu for the week (soups, waldorf salad, etc.)

Don't feel bad. If this is a lifestyle change, not a diet, than it's ok to have some struggles. Just ride the wave as my yoga teacher would say.

Teri, so many of us understand your situation from personal experience. I am glad you refuse to beat yourself up over it.
If you just keep raw in your awareness everyday, if you keep it your goal, then it will happen. You wll grow in it. And you will keep getting back to it.
"Persistence not perfection" will get you to where you want to be. Often times, those moments when we "slip" serve us tremendously in our growth.

I think we get scared a bit when it happens, thinking we will go back to that place many of us were, but you cant. You now have awareness! It cant leave you.

Loving yourself through the process, continous steps to reach your vision of yourself and embracing yourself, in all your moods and capacaties will see you blossom. Patience ....I dont have the most patience either, but you will get there.

I am so proud of you for not judging yourself!

Warmly~
Carmel

SG,

You really wrote that beautifully. Thank you. Those were the words that I needed to hear, too!

While I've been eating more non-raw food than usual this last week, I'm still eating at least 80% raw and am a raw foodist (no doubt about that!).

Thank you.

Teri~
I have gone on and off raw more times that I care to count. But I always keep coming back to it cause I know it is the healthiest way for me to eat,,, and I see the huge health benefits so quickly when going back on...
As others said,, it is a struggle and most of us have it... Very rare is it that one finds raw and NEVER has a bite of cooked again.
I just see it as a journey that God has me on and I am so thankful for the growth,, builds character!!!!

You'll get there, just don't give up!! And keep coming back to this site to get encouraged!!

Best of luck to you :)
