I've got some rye crackers in the D right now and they smell great! But I had to do them the easy way - I just spread the batter out onto the sheets and scored into squares (boring <g>). But the picture in the book I have shows them nice and round like those chips that come in a can, Pringle-shaped. I'd really like to be able to get such nice chips like in the picture (see attached).
Anyone have any neat trick to do this?

I've used the rim from my fav drinking glass just the right diameter, and I've got a 4'' bowl that I use when I make any type of roll up, tortilla.

Hi, thanks. Yes, I have a collection of items I use, too. I've always had trouble with how to do this. I have cookie cutters and can use glasses/bowls but I never get them as nice as in the picture. There must be a neat, quick trick to avoid the scraggly edges I always manage to end up with. <g>

I saw this cracker woman...Darn can't remember her name, on one of Kevin Gianni's vids - who made round ones. she made them a little thinner than I'm used to and just plopped them off a spoon.
I'll bet you could cut the hole in a plastic ketchup bottle a little larger, and just squirt some out. Just a thought.

Yes - that's Abeba Wright, "Krazy Kracker Lady"! I've got 2 of her ebooks. The batter has to be thin enough and you do like Mary Kay said - with a spoon. I've done it and they're perfectly round. It takes a couple minutes though! You might like to Google her and watch some of her videos because I'm pretty sure she demonstrates how to get them round. *Ü*

I made one of her recipes and they turned out just like the photo. I just spooned them onto the teflex with a cutlery tablespoon and pressed down in the middle to flatten them a bit. Perfect pringles! They curled as they dehydrated.

Fascinating! That pringles shape might snag the kids into it!
Will give it a shot some day, and google up those vids
Thanks for this thread and all the info folks!!!

Snoops,
Which recipe did you make? I (sort of) followed one of her recipes and mine were edible, but not great. Maybe I'll try one (tried and approved by you) and follow her exact recipe this time before I start being a smarty and tweaking it.
Thanks,
Mary Kay

I bought a cheap cookie press from one of the mart brothers, don't remember if it was wal or k, but it works really well. I use the round tip and make spirals what ever size I want. It also has other tips that can be used to make different shapes.

That is a great idea! And less drippy mess than doing it with a spoon. Plus - I love using gadgets ;) Thanks for posting your idea! *Ü*

Ditto to what DebB said. Now, I'm going to keep my eye out for one at a garage sale! One can never have too many gadgets!

Hi Mary Kay ~ I see them all the time in the thrift stores, so that's another option. I've had this one (http://www.pamperedchef.com/ordering/prod_details.tpc?prodId=4075&words=decorator)from Pampered Chef for years and I really love it, love that you can use it one handed too. I used to use it all the time for filling devilled eggs. I'll have to try it with this next time. (gadgetsgadgetsgadgets!!) *Ü*
