I am a passionate runner and am currently training for marathons and triathlons. I don't eat meat but I also do not favor legumes, nuts, or seeds. The only protein source I consume is nut butters, but I'm afraid it's not enough... is there another protein source I'm missing or do I just need to suck it up?

EVERYTHING you eat raw contains amino acids. Eat a variety of raw foods, especially greens and there is no WAY you could be protein deficient. My question is, how can people who eat cooked food which destroys nutrients, not be deficient?

as a physically active person I find that I have very little energy, often.

When I got done with my bikram yoga yesterday, my body craved a big, heavy meal. I had tofu and pasta. I can't seem to sustain my energy on just veggies. Or rather, I can't eat as many as I may need to. I blend most of my fruit/veggies as it's hard for me to get them into my belly any other way.

Are you sprouting seeds? They are a very good way of getting food into you!

I would have thought that carbs are what you need for running and not protein. There are many marathon runners on the high carb low protein diet.

Sterin, I think you're in the wrong place here.

The wording in all of this person's posts sound like those of the spammers but the link is missing so I am perplexed.

I think the plan is to make the posts then add the link later when their posts are lost amongst the replies.

Check out hemp seeds. High in protein but also high in good fats. Very versatile!
