I'm wondering if we could possibly share our favorite salad dressing recipes. Sometimes I just get in the habit of using the same recipe and would like to try something different. Below is my favorite:

In my personal blender I add the following:
Orange Ginger Dressing

1 peeled orange
1 tsp grated ginger
1/4 cup olive oil
2 tbsp miso
2 tsp nama shoyu
2 tsp sesame seed oil
2 dates
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
water until desired thickness

Place all the above ingredients in the blender. If too thick add a little water to thin.

Thanks everyone for sharing.

it sounds very nice but neither miso nor nama shoya are actually raw ingredients although I know that a lot of people eating raw do use them. Both are made from cooked soya beans.

Here's my favorite Ranch dressing by Snowdrop. It can be used as a dressing or a dip. I've tweaked it from the original to suit our tastes. We love it!

Snowdrop's ranch dressing/dip with my tweaks

Ingredients

Soak:
1 1/2 c nuts (cashew or mac or combo) soak them for a creamier dressing
(1-2 hr is fine, then drain)
and 10 deglet noor -or- FOUR medjool dates (reserve soak water to thin dressing if needed). Blend these well in blender and then add:

1 1/2 c filtered water for blending (can use date soak water too)
3 T lemon juice
2 T cider vinegar
2 T olive oil
3 T agave (omit agave if using dates to sweeten )
2 cloves garlic
1 t garlic pwd
3 t onion pwd
1 t dill
2 t sea salt
1/2 t basil

and to add after it's done:
1/4 c finely minced parsley
1/3-1/2 bunch of organic fresh chopped dill, can use stems

Directions
makes 3.5 cups (depends how much water you use)

vitamix blend all ingredients till creamy and smooth except the last 2,
then once blended, stir in the last 2 ingredients. Thickens in fridge.
thin to desired consistency if using as a dressing- or toss into wet lettuce leaves as is.

my basic one is much like yours ... except I use dates instead of honey and add garlic and sea salt.

I am starting to like mushrooms added to the dressing til they release their juices and then blitzing in the blender. It's sort of voluptuous as dressings go :)

My go to recipe is raweaters -

6 Tbsp EVOO
4 Tbsp flaked coconut
4Tbsp maple syrup
2 Tbsp ACV
dash salt

Blend in high speed blender till smooth.

I need a sweet dressing to make me want to eat salad and this is perfect even though maple syrup is not raw (I use grade B or C)

Good good, you?:throwhearts:

Moving to Houston in 6 weeks - getting ready for the onslaught of humidity!

Haven't been posting here much but I check in regularly. I plan...to do a 30 day challenge once I settle in down there. Should be easier due to the heat. I've only been on this board for 4 years - gotta do it at least once!

I love watermelon juice too and have loved to chew on rind ever since I was a kid. What I don't like about watermelon juice is how quickly it spoils. Drink it up right away. There is nothing worse than rotten watermelon juice.

Effortlessvegan and DebB, these look great. DebB, when I put it into my file, lo and behold I already had Snowdrop's ranch in there, but I think I'll try your tweaked version. BTW, I assume the basil is dried basil, correct?

And Snoops, doesn't the coconut end up a little chunky? You start with dried coconut, no? No matter what I do with dried coconut, I can never get it completely smooth ---but maybe that doesn't matter in your recipe?

Thanks everyone.
