I bought some "Kale Chips" (really crackers) made by Kaia Foods yesterday. They were on sale at Whole Foods 2 for $7.

I love them and want to figure out how to make my own.

Has anyone tried them? I tried the BBQ and the Chili Lime & both are delicious!

I would love to be able to make my own. I might experiment this weekend with the ingredients listed on the package but if anyone has a recipe or ideas, I'd appreciate it.

I think I like them even better than cheesy Kale chips. :heart

BTW - BBQ package lists ingredients as - Kale, sprouted sunflower seeds, spouted sesame seeds, sundried tomatoes, agave nectar, apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, wheat-free tamari, chili powder, cayenne, garlic powder and onion powder.

The sesame and sunflower seeds are on top of the cracker ... I'm guessing maybe some is mixed in with the kale but not sure. That's why I'm hoping to find a recipe to recreate these yummy cracker/chips. :eat

Thanks!

I was at Whole Foods yesterday and took a picture of the ingredients list to try to replicate them today.

I had some Kale, so I put the Kale, Sprouted Sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, and all the other ingredients (basically BBQ sauce flavoritings) into the Vita-Mix. Then I blended to get everything mixed together and tasted tested a bit along the way.

The result looked promising:

I started these chips/crackers fairly early in the evening so I removed the Teflex sheet and flipped them right before heading to bed. This is what they looked like this morning:

I let them go in the dehydrator a couple more hours and this is what they look like now. I sampled a couple and they were very similar to the Kaia Foods chips I was wanting to recreate, so I'd call this a success!!!

If you haven't tried these Kaia chips, they are really tasty!

These look so good Lani! I haven't tried the crackers as the nearest WF is 4+ hours away... Do you have the measurements by chance from your recipe? We just planted a boat load of kale in our garden and these would be perfect! *Ü*

I brought them to a gathering today and they were a huge hit!!

I'm going to make them again and try to keep track of the amounts of each ingredient so I can post the recipe.

Thank you Lani ~ As much as I love to do food prep, I'm not blessed with the ability to go recipe-less :throwhearts: I must have been absent the day that talent was passed out! *Ü*
