Has anyone tried this? I am curious if it works. I have bad allergies and have had to take zyrtek every day to keep them under control.

A doctor friend suggested I try a quercetin bromelain nettle blend. I'm curious if anyone has any experience and can share? I'd like to get off the zyrtek if I could but I'm miserable if my allergies are not controlled.

Taking probiotics healed me within a few days.

I learned about how probiotics resolve allergies in the book The Probiotics Revolution by Gary B. Huffnagle.

Whilst it's great to seek solutions for alleviating symptoms, it's more effective to seek answers to why one is experiencing multiple allergies. What it the underlying cause? An over-sensitive immune system can often have it's roots in gastrointestinal and/or liver issues, these themselves being caused by, for example, heavy metals (which suppress and derange immune function). Intestinal dysbiosis can lead to perforation of the gut wall and this, too, may be caused by heavy metals, infection with pathogenic substances or pathogenic bacteria, or as a consequence of biliary and/or pancreatic issues etc. etc.

Not trying to complicate things here, just trying to point out that whilst you are seeking to alleviate your symptoms, you'd be very wise to also simultaneously seek answers to what the underlying cause(s) of your immune sensitivity and/or immune dysfunction might be.

Some related discussion in the following threads, but please note that although they are not specifically discussing allergies, that does not mean they aren't relevant - it's really important to understand that inflammation of tissues in the body wherever they may be, immune suppression, immune hypersensitivty (allergies) etc. all overlap to quite a significant degree (ever seen a venn diagram? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venn_diagram :) ). We aren't taught the systemic nature of the body (and indeed the medical profession unfortunately places too little emphasis on the systemic nature of the body, since doctors tend to be trained to specialise in particular specific components, areas, or organs of the body). In your case, I'd personally investigate your liver function first and, since it's so easy and cheap, and since it can impact the liver and immune system severely, get yourself tested for heavy metals (hair elements analysis). Funny that I seem to be replying to quite a few possibly-heavy-metal-related threads lately, but that's just the way things go sometimes :). Put simply, your immune system is behaving strangely and there is a reason for that. Are some of the livers metabolic detoxification pathways being impeded by something (e.g. heavy metals, impeded bile flow due to gallstones or parasites etc.), and thus innocent substances having to be dealt with by the immune system because they can't be broken down by the liver? Is the immune system in a generalised state of inflammation due to some organic or inorganic pathogenic cause (e.g. parasitic, chemical, heavy metal, bacteriological, viral etc.) and this generalised inflammatory state leading to hypersensitivity of the immune system? Or something else?

As I said, there's related discussion around these issues in the following threads, and there's stacks of info if you surf the net, of course.
