I got introduced to the raw food scene a week ago and I am psyched! However, I am in the middle of a weight / muscle gaining regime at the gym, and wondering how on earth to combine growth with raw food..
I'm a 1.82m (~ 6'1 I believe) tall male, weighing in at 73kg (~ 160 pounds).
My current eating regime consists primarily of:
- Wild rice
- Canned tuna
- Muesli / whole-grains
- Dark bread
- Chicken
- Fruit / vegetables (mostly bananas) - approx. 3 / 4 pieces p. day
- Nuts (a couple handfuls a day)
- Yoghurt
Red meat approx. once a week; never huge amounts.
I supplement with:
- Cod liver oil
- Green tea extract
- Flax seed oil
- Black berry extract
- L-Tyrosine (helps transfer proteins into muscle)
- Soy-based protein powder
Any advice is welcome!
Also, how much do people spend on a raw food diet per day? I'm more than willing to make the investment for my health, but just out of curiosity I'd like to know what to expect.
And one last thing; I've heard about raw food vs. diabetes - what about vs. allergies? I suffer from dust mite and grass allergy.
