I'm having a serious problem here. I need help. :(
Last night I went to Whole Foods and stocked up on their salad bar. When I got to the end of it, I saw garlic cloves. Well, I love garlic cloves (okay they were roasted). Anyway, I must have put about 20 cloved in my salad plus a bunch of red onion. :o
Next morning, not only do I stink, the whole house stinks! Plus I'm tooting all over the place.
I am hosting a raw luck tomorrow and I'm scared!
It's coming out of my pores, my breath, my tooting zone, everything...help!
What do I do now?

Hi Sharon,
I too love garlic too much according to my husband.
I have found that if you rinse you mouth with clove oil after brushing your teeth and tongue it will help. Also someone said fennel seed with help chew them slowly and that should help with the odor from the inside of your stomach.
I've ate so much garlic once that my husband refused to sleep in the same bed with me. HaHa!!!!!!!

Thanks guys.
I wish I had some clove oil around here. I will see if I can find fennel seeds in the pantry.
I've already had mint tea with lemon, water with lemon, a ton of parsley, quite a bit of ACV & agave with water, and an apple.
I was going to do a work-out, hoping to sweat it out, but I'm completely nauseated from all this stuff I've been eating this morning. Plus I'm afraid to shake the tank with all the vinegar. My hubby said I might explode.
I'm lighting candles around the house too.
I just didn't think it would be this bad! :(

Did you ever do a self administered enema. If you got every thing out that end it would seriously minimise your problems

HA HA HA HA!!! Been there done that! I would say start drinking LOTS of water and/or cleansing drinks to help flush that out of your system.

I know this won't help you in the short term, Sharon, but several of us were discussing this recently. It seems that the longer we were raw, the less detectable garlic was in/on our bodies. Now, people around us can't even tell when we've eaten it. Maybe your reaction is because they were roasted cloves? Or ... maybe it was 20 (!!?!). I say just tell your raw potcluck buddies what's going on from the outset and warn them that you may need to walk away from them every now and then ... for their sakes!! ;)

An enema, ha? I'm just wondering if it'll help with my breath and my pores. Actually I haven't had a problem with BM's this morning at all.
I'm continuing to drink a lot of lemon water, whilst hubby is keeping his distance.
Well RawTruth, it may have been the 20 cloves. They were so good. I couldn't imagine eating 20 raw garlic cloves. They really sweeten up when they've been denatured. I figure on the bright side I have enough antibiotic to kill any bad (and good) bacteria in my system. Hopefully when it's passed I'll have a nice surge of energy!

Can you try sweating it out? Just a thought.
Sorry to say that I am giggling a bit about the scenario. My husband hates it when I have too much garlic.

Make a fruit smoothie and put a lot of parsley in it......parsley will help neutralize the garlic~

Thanks guys. Yes, Debbie, I will be trying to work up a bit of a sweat.
I have been munching on parsley through the day as well. I like parsley. GlimR I'll try to make another smoothie with parsely in it as well.
I also took a long hot shower to open up the pores and scrubbed everywhere with my crystallized honey (my new exfoliant, lol).
DH said it was better after I got out of the shower. I'll have to take another tonight before messing up the sheets again!
Funny, I can't smell a thing! :p

Brush and floss my teeth really well. Then use breath spray every ten minutes.
you should then be fine

Instead of a hot shower, may I suggest a hot bath, then into the bed immediately, covering up good to continue the sweat. I promise you will sweat about two pounds worth, at least I did last week.
I'd suggest putting nice thick cotton towels under and on top of you to soak up the sweat, that way when you are through with the sweat, you simply have to remove the towels, not change the sheets. Oh, then go take the hot shower to finish cleansing of the pores.
Last week I felt a virus coming on and this was suggested to me. After the hot sweaty bath, I sweated for another four hours. Needless to say, my bed was wet. And it was quite cold when I came back to bed after a potty run. I ended up sleeping in my nice thick robe. Oh, and it really ended my virus. You may have to sleep by yourself tonight.
Good luck!!

LOL at our Jumpin' Nana tooting...
I know it was a problem, but.. that was funny!
I'm a garlic 'holic, too. love it, but some days... it's harsh to me.
( I will not covet roasted garlic, I will not covet roasted garlic, I will eat ice cream, I will not covet .... )

Well, there are several things you may choose to do.
For your own personal hygiene, the parsley and sweating sounds really good,
And for your home you may simply try the candles, essential oils etc.
But if it was me, instead of trying to mask it or get rid of it, I would use it to my advantage, such as for your raw luck tomorrow, make a lasagna or raw pizza with tons of ( you guessed it ) raw garlic on it.
that way they will think it is the food, and not you. How cleaver is that?
Anyway, that is what I would do, OR you could keep your dog handly, and any ill effects I would look accusingly at your pooch, and say, "Oh, please excuse him, I am so sorry, he ate something really nasty yesterday." LOL
This will shift the blame at tad.
Good luck.

awww Sharon, nobody could ever hate you.
I didnt read all the responses, but want to tell you a ton of water and then an enema will help flush it out of your system and will get rid of your gas instantly.
Good luck! I like RP's dog idea!

Oh girl, I think you are just sol, yanno?
I did that awhile back and couldn't understand why all the students in class wouldn't look at or sit near me. Found out when I came home. He said I stunk to put it nicely. lol Anyway, took about 3 days to get back to normal. Have fun! :)

Revvell - I'm just sol I guess? What is sol? Could it be a garlicoholic?
Hey BDraw I like the sweaty bath idea. I think I'll give that a go in my miniature bathtub.
RP you made me LOL with your post. Funny thing is, our dog Ruby often toots...they are very silent and very deadly. I'm going to be making Chef Ito's curry rice so I"ll throw in some extra garlic while I think about you!
Thank you SweetG. I've been drinking lots of water and running to the potty all day long.
Renee I was afraid I'd have vivid dreams after all the garlic and the onions. I just woke up with a roasted garlic hangover.
swiddweas I did do a body scrub with my crystalized honey. That stuff is great. I finally have a use for it now.

These are great suggestions - especially to get other people to eat it too!
Another thing you can try:
Dry skin brushing
Then really hot shower, really cold, hot/cold 7 times for about one minute apiece, or as long as you can stand it. It stimulates circulation and release of toxins (another Dr. Schulze routine).
You could also sage your house out - good luck!

Sharon, so glad to hear about your dog Ruby, tooting, (humm, that didn't come out quite right)
And if you are making Chef Ito's curried rice dish, would you be kind enough to share your recipe? I mean, I've heard you all talking about it, and it sounds soooooo very good, Dragggon loves curry, and I would love to get a recipe from someone, who I am sure, makes it taste absolutely divine.

Sure thing RP. Right now it's in the soaking process. RawTruth said he soaked it in acidpholus and then blended it with the curry stuff. We'll see how it turns out. Of course Chef Ito has the Vietnamese touch, so I don't expect it to taste real close.
I'm probably going to mold it in the bowl tonight with some diced avocadoes and stick it in the fridge to firm up. Probably put some young coconut meat into it.
Will be taking pictures too.

So glad you asked Jamie, I was wondering, but in case it didn't go as well as planned, I didn't want to embarass our Sharon.
SO, HOW DID IT GO?
Did you blame it on Ruby? LOL
I sure would have.
Or were you okay by then?

Hi ladies - thanks for checking up on me! I believe the smell has finally dissapated! Good grief, I'll never eat that much garlic again, as good as it was! :o
My hubby is working on the photos of the food and I'll be posting them in a separate thread.
RP the curried rice came out beautiful although the flavoring may need to be worked out somewhat. Will be providing the recipe as well.

I called them about this rice dish and was told that he blends the rice up enough to break it smaller before it is soaked- the wild rice came from Trader Joe's. I got that much information because I am from Maryland and they remember the group.

Awesome Sweet Lips - couldn't figure it out. I couldn't believe how soft they got the rice, even when I've done my own rice salads the rise was pretty al dente. I shall try that. Trader Joe's huh? Now I know what I want in my next care package from mom!!!
Thank you, thank you! :)
