Breathe. End tomorrow if you need to, not today. Hang in there!

hardest day fasting? the one that i'm having ending fast justification thoughts when i know i want to continue. definitely. LOL
so... make a list... of all the things you can do to get your mind off it... and make a plan of X amount of days that you will continue to fast and then... if you still want to break it at that point... do so.
that will be very empowering!!!

I am a rather inexperienced faster. I've done a handful of juice fasts, each progressively longer, but none lasting longer than 7 days. The one that lasted 5 days was sabotaged by a stupid dinner out with all my extended family nattering at me that I was "being extreme" and "why don't you just eat healthy??" My fast ended the next day. The 7 day fast ended because I was bored with not eating. I just wanted to eat. Chew something. I recognize what you're saying, and so far, day 7 has been the worst. You can expect the detox symptoms and when you see them coming they're tolerable. But I was blindsided by this rationalization thing. It seemed so logical, so much like it was my choice when all the time it was my mind playing tricks on me. I'll see it rear its ugly head next time around and it won't be so lucky next time. Amazing how the body pleads and bargains and tries to negotiate when it's being held hostage, eh?

My hardest water fasting day is the third day. The first day feels like I just missed a couple of meals but not to hungry yet. The second day is harder then the first but I'm still moving forward on white knuckle resolve. The third day is the hardest because I'm at max hunger and my white knuckles are beginning to weaken. The trick is to not think about food ( good luck :) ) The fourth day is an easy day because my body makes the switch from feeding on glucose to feeding on keytones and hunger disappears.
