So just saw Food matters tonight & am thinking of conscientiously incorporating more fruits & veggies in liquid form to my diet.
So my friend recommended a vitamix previously. I went onto their website & they have a refurbished Vitamix 5200 for $379. Is it worth the investment?
Much thanks!:throwhearts:

I am also headed to the Vitamix in the near future! Check out this site... Discount Juicers (http://www.discountjuicers.com/blenders.html) John's prices are good and the vast majority include the shipping!
Good luck!

Good luck in your decision. I use my Vita-mix every day. Usually twice a day and sometimes more. You'll use it for lots of things.

I struggled with this for quite some time - did I want to spend the money? Would I be disappointed with my purchase? I did tons of research and finally decided to buy a Costco membership and purchase the Vitamix from there. It was $373 (plus I had to buy a Costco membership) BUT it came with a 10 year warranty (or a coupon for an extra container) and now I can but all the greens to put in it on the cheap with my Costco membership :excited: You can read about my vitamix here:

Yes, I named it Blendie. I actually named it before I had even purchased it, and harassed my husband daily to get a Blendie until he finally caved to get me to hush up!
Anyway, yes, you should totally just get one! I love mine :throwhearts:
If you're a Costco member, you may want to find out when the VitaMix's next "road show" will be there. You can get the 5200, brand new for $399. I waited until their road show came and then bought it. Just tossin' that in FWIW. And yes - absolutely, it's worth the investment! *Ü*

After buying 3 blenders in a year I told my husband it was time for the Vitamix. We received a rebate check for $500 and he said "GET IT". It cost $495 to order it but I use it every day 3-5 times a day. Last Sunday I wanted carrots on our lunch salad. Since my husband usually pushes his to the side I decided to shred a few in the Vitamix. I turned it on to about 5 on the variable speed and dropped them 1or2 at a time. In 5 seconds I had chopped carrots. Tap, tap to empty them out and a quick rinse. Viola! Done.
I love my Vitamix. It is worth it. Warm soup, smoothe smoothies and ice cream...its worth it to me.
I think they stand by their product. A refurb will be a great investment! IMHO.

Definately worth the investiment. I use mine daily, also. If I had to part with anything in my raw kitchen, they would have to pry my Vitamix out of my hands. Not kidding.
Second the Costco road show. Great deal and great warranty.

as far as i know the vitamix 5200 and the vitamix 4500 have same motors ,
and the motors are BY FAR most important feature . i think with the 5200 theres fancier speed control dials = big deal . as with a blender all you need is hi / low / pulse
and at bedbathbeyond they sell the 4500 brand new for the same 380 price your looking at paying for a rebuilt 5200 = foolish
plus you use the bedbathbeyond coupon of 20% off and the 4500 becomes just over $300 , plus if any problems can take it right back to store without playing around with shipping

I have had just about every model of VitaMix, and I find the 5200 to be (by far) my favorite. The adjustable speed dial is a huge improvement over the 4500. I'm in love with mine! Totally! :)

I love my vitamix and use it at least twice per day. Best blender around. I have had my vitamix 5200 for 2 years now and no issues at all. I make raw drinks for my friends who come over and there so surprised always on the taste and never can believe it. I bought the reconditioned one from vitamix for $379 and used the free shipping code.
