Hi everyone,
I am really happy that i found this site! the other about raw i saw boring! And I am really surprise that so many people are interested by the raw! Well few months ago I read a book called 12 steps to raw foods : how to end your addiction to cooked food / Victoria Boutenko. I really knew that is the way that i wanted to eat! well, she is talking about the way of the body will react by the intoxication! pain for few days. So my question is: can anyone who went through this kind of experience share with me?
thank you...
ho by the way i bought some rye flour and was wondering if you have any recipes for raw bread that i can use in.
merci!
i am in 80% raw!

Bonjour Naninou
and welcome to this board! :)
I suppose you are from France, right? I'm from Belgium (not the french speaking part but the flemish speaking part).

As for your question: if you go to the 30 days raw challenge, you will see that a lot of people are dealing with detox (getting rid of old toxins in the body). I can say for myself that I experienced and am still experiencing: bad taste in my mouth, LOTS of zits (=acné), oily skin, greasy hair, sometimes feeling tired, sometimes a headache, .... but other people are experiencing other kinds of detox, it depends from person to person.... just so you know, almost all of us get detox, somewhere along the road when transferring to raw food. It's part of it, so don't worry to much about it, okay?

Feel free to ask more questions, you'll notice soon that the people on this board are all lovely and will help you out as much as they can!! :)

Take care!

Welcome Naninou! I've had some very sore days detoxing. Other days I feel wonderful! The underlying current is that I'm feeling a little better each day I'm raw, so I know that eventually things will get better. Are you having muscle soreness? It's common, expecially for those of us who have fibromyalgia to begin with. Welcome to the board!

Hi naninou,

Welcome :)

Detox is different for everyone. It depends on how sick your body is, what your diet is like now, etc.

For me, I get just an occasional zit. I will get a metalic taste in my mouth. This is when I go high raw.

Currently I have been juicing - now I'm getting diarrhea, chilled to the bone, body aches (I had/have Fibromyalgia - just flare ups now when I detox).

There are just so many different ways you may detox. Some people have gone raw with no apparent detox symptoms. So be prepared for almost anything :)

But well, thank you sooooooooooo much for very sweet replies wow that is a nice and warm welcome. :)

I didn't buy the book and i am not sure i can afford it! Xmast is coming though hahah. but i will do it anyway. I have a little of knowledge of this diet thanks of the book in the library!

I don't have sore muscles, well i do but that because i am running and did kick boxing yesterday too hahaha. I have a small headache too. i am still not 100% raw though. I am afraid that if i do then i wont be able to keep it on because my husband and my social life. Do you think i get benefits too by doing something like 80%? & can we eat raw cheese or raw meat? :p

i guess nobody has a raw bread recipe with rye flour (and not sprouted seeds!) :(

I will use the forum as much as i need... i have to organize it though. new at it!

thank you all so much again!
