View Full Version : Frothiness in green smoothies?

I currently have a Cuisinart blender. It's ok, but my green smoothies tend to get really frothy at the top within minutes of making them. Basically, if I'm not drinking it right that second, it starts to separate.

I'm about to order a Blendtec (yay!!) and I'm wondering if what I'm experiencing is a green smoothie thing in general, or if I'll notice improvement with a high speed blender. ??

Mine don't get frothy in my Vita-Mix.

Are you adding any kind of protein powder in it? Mine would get frothy when I added protein powder sometimes.

I have a Blend-tec, and my smoothies never get frothy - just creamy-smooth. Love that thing ever since I unpacked it out of the box!

Thank you both for your replies!

No, I'm not adding protein powder or anything similar to my smoothies. It seems that even the most basic blends (spinach, banana, berries) will separate almost immediately so that it's frothy/thick at the top and thinner at the bottom.
