I just received my organic cold-pressed hemp oil. It is definitely unrefined, no question about that. I look forward to using it. Does anyone else use hemp oil?

Oh, Samuel, you KNOW I do :D Always as my salad dressing with apple cider vinegar, and I always use it in any recipe that calls for oil.

I hope you like it!!!

Do you really think it taste better though?

I mean do you think dressings are better with hemp oil as compared to olive oil?

I really never paid attention... I just feel that it's healthier because of all the omegas and everything. It certainly doesn't taste bad :-)

I love my hemp protein in smoothies (bananas and blueberries!), but I have to say I can't put my hemp oil on everything. I do like it as a salad dressing when paired with squeezed orange juice, it's a nice combo.

Gabrielle Cousen's Rainbow Green Live Food Cuisine has quite a few reciepies with hemp oil in them.

Enjoy!

I once ordered a bottle of hemp oil. I used it in salad dressings. However the bottle didn't say if it needed refrigeration. Does your bottle say?

VeggieMel, yes, it does say it needs to be refridgerated after opening.

Hemp oil is very heat sensitive. Yes, please do refrigerate. And if it tastes bad, it could be turning. Hemp oil has a very mild taste.

(Just an fyi, as my brother always complained about his hemp oil, I thought he was nuts, till I went over to his house and tasted it. It didn't taste rancid, but it wasn't good anymore :()

I just bought some straight hemp seeds. It states on the bag that it's organically grown, as well as the fact that hemp never needs pesticides and is a low maintenance plant (hence it sustainability). I tasted some of the seeds, and wowsers! A very mild, friendly taste! Like a cross between sunflower and macadamia seeds. Quite a small amount leaves me very filled up, too!

I also like the hemp protein.
I consume 1 TB hemp nuts every day; i use it in my salad dressings too.
they are tasty as toppings or straight. I think they taste a lot like sunflower seeds with a "green" edge.
