Hello all. I have read and watched vids on you tube about the benefits of going raw. I have not started this journey yet, but am trying to prepare myself for doing this.

I know the benefits of this would be great, however---it is getting over the hump of taming my taste buds into liking plant foods. More than anything i just want to cleanse and purify my body...long overdue for me.

I think over the years of eating a S.A.D diet my body just craves all these toxins and chemicals that i know in the long run are going to kill me eventually.

The biggest hurdle for me is finding some easy, tasty recipes to get me over and to stick to it.

Any advice is appreciated.

You'll find lots of yummy recipes on this site.

You might also want to check out Alissa's books and some of the other books on raw foods.

That said, I find most of my best recipes just googling. I think of what I want to make and google that food with the word "raw" ... 9 times out of 10, something pops up! If it doesn't look too complicated I make it.

In order to keep things interesting, I committed at the start to trying at least 2 new recipes every week. Today is day 35!! 5 weeks raw so it's working well for me.

Another fun thing I do is bring my raw treats into the office to share with my SAD coworkers. Less treats for me, but that is okay - they are actually getting really interested in raw food because they never knew it could taste so good, and many of the recipes make more than I could eat anyway so I am happy to share. :throwhearts:

I brought fudge balls yesterday - google "3 minute fudge balls". YUM!!!! Those were a big hit!

Hi and welcome to RFT. You can go as fast or slow as you need to. The key is to find foods/meals/routines that work for you. Find the raw alternatives to the foods you like that are not raw. There is some some absolutely fabulous food out there. My husband and I are often amazed at how good our food is.
Wish you the best on your journey!
