Hi everyone,
Well one year on and it's been amazing. I feel 10 years younger all ready. I have been a 100% from the very beginning.
My skin is soft and silky and youthful, not bad for 58!
My back pain has nearly all gone.
My ezcema is going into retreat after 28 years.
i have released 35lbs and my body is becoming what it looked like when it was 18yrs of age lean, mean and fit.
I have started to drink wheatgrass again after a five year break and now my body is less toxic it's much easier to take.
My day start's at 5.30 with wheatgrass then a long walk, home for breakfast with a large green smoothie. My energy is better than it has been for year's and getting better all the time.
My life is changing all the time for the better ,and eating raw food has made a huge difference to my healing work with clients.
I am so looking forward to my second, year and what it may bring.
It's never to late to start eating the right food for the rest of your lives, it works for me.
Love and light to you all.

Oh this is SO what I needed to read tonight, thanks, Helen!
I'm detoxing (day 7 of Master Cleanse) and my head hurts so much it's got me almost nauseous AND, I am continuously desiring to have firmed up skin and parts, especially stomach and "the girls," but I often find myself having to fight the negative thinking, like I have this evening.
I have to say, "Kate, you have never given your body the pure nourishment of raw foods with NO junky, dead, foods long enough to even KNOW what your body can look like. Just because other people lose weight and get saggy and flabby, does not mean that this will be your experience because they do it while still consuming cooked and/or processed."
So to read what you said makes me ecstatic! And especially because I'm only 35, so if your body can restructure to be firm again, I know mine can, too!

And it's ok if you don't want to put your pix on the 'net. Many don't. Your story is not worthless without them. We support you and celebrate you regardless :heart

Thankyou all so much for your very kind remarks.
I am so sorry i have no before pics, never thought i would last a year on raw food. I never like having my photo taken because i wear a wig because i have been losing my age since the age of 35 and i wear very thick glasses like the bottom of milk bottles at the moment until i can get back to my con tacs. I was not blessed with any good looks so hate having my photo taken.
One of my aims on raw is to restore my hair and improve my eyesight. just watch this space. I am amazed what i have done in a year.
Thankyou all for your support - hug's

We are always our worst critic! I HATE my pictures cause I'm afraid that's really what I look like. Then, out of the blue a friend told me she had a bunch of pics from a function in our community and she had several good ones of me, "You're so photogenic". OMG, so not true, but everyone sees you differently than you do yourself.
I still do it!! My DIL (who takes lots of pictures that I would faithfully AVOID) finally told me one day, "If you died today, your grandsons would have no pictures to remember you by." Whole new perspective!!! They were very small at the time and it would have been true. Makes me tear up just thinking about it. Now I only avoid SOME of them, lol.
Take a pic NOW, just so you have a cronicle of your journey. You don't need to post it, but someday you might just need a lift and it helps to see from where you've come!

:cheer: excited to read your experience - I am 58 y/o and although I'm only raw since December, I notice many changes already. Some issues that were with me since early childhood.
Was there anything different you did then the usual ? You briefly mentioned what your day was like - can you elaborate a bit more. I'm still in the learning phase and someone my age is a bonus.
I am about to begin callanetics and excited about that since I had to stop exercising due to extreme back problems and knee problems that would flare up every time I tried something different.
Thanks. And many cheers for you ! There's no turning back !
And, we are our worst critics, if you are married, I'm sure your spouse can tell you how beautiful you are. The shine of a soul always comes thru to express it's outer beauty, shining eyes reflecting the soul are always beautiful - to have beautiful skin in itself is beautiful, and I'm sure there is plenty more. A smile reflecting our happiness is always beautiful and makes others feel good.
Keep up the great work ! :excited:

You are inspiring.....I'd love to hear more about your story/journey. How did you hear about the raw food lifestyle? How did you start? What are some of your tips to help each of us here and those that are new? Congrats....like I said you are inspiring!

This is my story,
Born with only a small amount of hair and very fine, they found out by the age of 3 that i could hardly see so i was extremely short sighted. I always hoped my hair would grow and get thicker but it did not, by the age of 35 it started to get less that's when i got a wig.
A tree fell on my head and i had severe concussion nearly died, so by my 20's i had back problems.
I never gave up trying to get better, I have always been a vegatarian.
I have had a lot alternative treatments and got on with it and 18 years ago i became a thearpist.
2 years ago i started to make green smoothies after watching a video on you tube and i knew that was for me and i got hooked on them and lost my taste for sweet things. I had put a lot weight on during the menopause and stopped living. Then slowly i losted the desire for cooked food and then i went 100% raw.
My day starts early with a 1oz shot of wheatgrass, then out for a long walk followed a large green smoothie.
Lunch big salad- greens, seaweed, and lot's of live sprouts. Evening another green smoothie. Snacks of fruit and nuts and raw chocolate brownies which i love.
After breakfast i work out with my dumbells and stretch before work.
After work it can be yoga or the gym. Exercise is the key to keep the body toned and the muscles strong which is more important as the body ages after 50.
Now i live more and enjoy life to the max. Raw food is changing me my body, mind and spirit.
I hpoe this helps, love to you all and my advise is never ever give up!!
