View Full Version : Boutenko's story?
Does anyone have a link to their story about how they got started on raw? I looked on their website, and couldn't find anything specific about that.
Thanks!

Thats what their book Raw Family is all about. I dont think I have ever seen their story online come to think of it.
Its also mentioned in less detail in 12 Steps to Raw.

It all started when Victoria's son Sergei was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes and they were terrified at the idea of Sergei needing to have insulin needles daily for the rest of his life.
Click here (http://www.alternativesmagazine.com/18/boutenko.html) for the story I read.
I found the link in a collection of media stories about raw which is here.

Yes sg you are right I have that book and it is mention in there why the family pursued the living food way of life.
Just wondering cuz I don't own the book, and yet I know I've read their story... I'm trying to get my father to go to a presentation they're doing tomorrow, and I thought a little background info might entice him.
Thanks for the link RawandNatural! It was something similar to this that I had read, so I forwarded that to my father.

I think the neetest part of their story, is how Victoria started going up to all the "healthy" people she say, and asking them what they did.
She finally stumbled upon this lady in line at the bank, and she looked so healthy, that Victoria asked her out for lunch, and the woman, explained that she would be happy to talk to her, but she wouldn't eat lunch with her, because she only ate raw food.
That is the spark that started it all, Victoria then went home and promptly told everyone they were going to eat all raw food, everyone thought she was crazy, so she emptied the house of all food and that was it.
But her book Raw family is fascinating, and I think every person on this planet would do well to read it.

I love that book Raw Family. It totally inspired me to continue on the raw path. Victoria must have thought I was nuts, when I went to her workshop, I told her I wanted to hug her. I was just so touched.
In her story, she shares how everyone in her family was sick. Besides Sergei, Victoria was obese, her husband had serious heart problems and Valya had asthma.
It really is worth it to buy the book, or get it from the library. It's a quick and very interesting read.
