HI All -

I am on a quest to create a easy to digest smoothie that is high in magnesium (& calcium/other hard to get raw minerals). I thought I would consult with you all to help me concoct this healthy elixir. :juicy:I struggle to get enough greens, and I have noted that my recent heart palpitations seem to disappear when i take calcium and magnesium supp's. I would much prefer not to rely on supp's if i can get these minerals from mother nature herself.

Can anyone provide a recipe that is:

a) tasty (or as palatable as possible so hubby will also drink :P)
b) easy to digest (ie: too much spinach causes me tummy problems)
b) low in fat (i subscribe to 8/1/1 ratios when possible, but if its a little over that is ok)

Thanks so much!!!

Have you looked into spinach. It is a good source for magnesium and calcium isn't it.

I do spinach, with frozen fruit (pineapple, mango or peaches), banana, lemon and water. Even my youngest child loves this one.

I hope that helps.

According to WHFoods (http://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname=nutrient&dbid=75),

- pumpkin seeds
- spinach
- swiss chard
- sunflower seeds
- sesame seeds

are all good raw sources of magnesium. I'd suggest sprouting some sunflower seeds, and blending them into a spinach or swiss-chard smoothie. =)

From what I've read greens are rich in magnesium and these fruits are as well: Avocado, Banana, Blackberries, Dates, Guava, Kiwi, Loganberries, Mulberries, Passion Fruit, Pomegranate, Prickly Pear, Raspberries and Watermelon.

Making a yummy, high magnesium green smoothie should be a snap:throwhearts:
