I made a pizza sauce before and I didnt copy the recipe down. I sent the book back to the library.
so if anyone has a sauce recipe for pizza that they would like to share, I would greatly appreciate it.
I still have some tomatoes from my garden lurky in my fridge and I would like to chop them up before they get too old and I have to throw them out.

From http://fresh-network.com:
Tomato Sauce
4-6 tomatoes
4-6 sundried tomato halves
1 clove garlic
Half a red bell pepper, chopped
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, chopped
Handful of fresh basil leaves
Blend all ingredients thoroughly using food processor, hand blender or vita-mix.
and from another source:
pizza sauce
sundried tomatoes
fresh tomatoes
fresh basil
sea salt
a touch of honey
blend.

We're very garlic-y around here ( though, certainly NOT as garlic-y as SHARON!! ...... ..........runs )...
We use a lot of garlic, and if your tomatoes are giving off too much moisture, you can drain that off and then add in more sun-dried tomatoes. I think the sundrieds are the biggest key in making a raw tomato sauce, because they act as the binder and the flavor enhancer; without them the sauce is more of a wet salsa. I've not used the dates, because I didn't wish for mine to have a sweetened flavor at first; but if you like sweet, add the soaked medjools.
Try a little Celtic sea salt to enhance flavors again, and we use dehydrated basil, oregano, and parsely.

Is there a pizza sauce recipe that does not include dried tomato slices?
Can something else be substituted in its place. They are so expensive and with winter coming prices will go higher.

From http://fromsadtoraw.com/Recipes/SpaghettiSauce.htm, this Spaghetti Sauce is used for their Veggie Pizza Pie recipe. No directions, so I guess you just blend everything together.
15 cherry tomatoes
4 baby carrots (or two full-size carrots)
1 green onion (finely chopped)
1 tsp. garlic powder
2 T. olive oil
2 T. Tamari Soy Sauce
oregano, salt & pepper to taste

If you want a thicker sauce, when using fresh, you can add dehydrated onion and garlic and dried spices to the mix, it helps to absorb the super wet fresh tomatoe juice.
