HI Everyone
Yesterday was about Day 20 raw for me... It had really become quite easy, funnily enough. Cravings were gone and I could see this being a way of life. Until I had a nightmarish nap and awoke feeling nauseaus. I had done a whilrwind of uncooking that morning...and suddenly, I was overwhelmed by this intense wave of utter revoltion for anything raw...anything at all I had eaten in the last three weeks...the thought made me absolutely want to gag. I had to eat late that afternoon and all I could think about was bread. So I ate a tonne of bread...and felt SO MUCH BETTER. I was still sickened by anything raw that night after yoga, etc, so I had veggie burgers, cooked, with buns...and felt way better....... so today I wanted to get back on the raw track, but Im completely nauseus and revolted by anything raw again. I dont want anything cooked.... what should I do? Has anyone had this experience???
Thanks

sometimes I feel that way if i have been eating too much of the same thing for a while. When that happens I move on to something totally different. I was eating these huge salads every day for a month a while back... then one day I took a bite and just couldn't swallow it, so I ditched the savory salads in favor
of different vegetables, fruits, etc. SOmetimes a change in texture is helpful too :)

Yes, that's happened to me several times actually. Its usually when I eat a lot of prepared dishes with numerous ingredients- not necessarily even dehydrated.

Could it be parasites? Maybe do a search here and see if there are any postings to that effect. I know I read it somewhere and it's usually here that I find so much great info. Gist was that the person's system was off and they didn't want this or that.

Good luck.

Good idea, I'll try this if it happens to me again. Glad this thread got started:heart

I'm wondering if it was because you were eating too much fat. I've felt the same way lately, and realise it's a problem if you keep eating high fat raw dishes when you are hungry. I'm making a concerted effort to make more filling, yet low fat meals. I think we need to eat most of our calories from fruit and vegetables. I am not scared of eating fat, but I don't think that it should constitute too high a proportion of daily calories.

Hi Everyone
Id like to know how many people here turned raw right off the bat, and how many toyed with 100% on and off for some time before really finding what worked best for them???? Just curious..... I had a weird incident the other day.... had made tonnes of wonderful things, loved them all, but that afternoon after a nap woke up absolutely ill....totally nauseaus and revolted by the aspect of anything...anything at all that I had eaten in the last 3 weeks.. I couldn't stomach the though. It made my belly lurch right into my throat. I hand't had any cooked food cravings for quite some time. Its like it came outa of nowhere. My body demaded simple brown bread, and as soon as I ate it...the nausea subsided..... Anyway... I was happy on 100%.... but now Im trying to navigate my way back after a day of cooked foods and a super gun shy stomach.....That was three days ago, and still today, nuts turn my nose right up.... anything sweet, anything I've eaten in 3 weeks! I could be sick. I look forward to hearing about your own journeys. Thanks in advance for sharing.

Namaste

I merged your threads for you. Please don't make two threads about the same topic.

People will joyfully respond to your existing thread. :throwhearts:

Oh, Thanks Aleesha.... I didn't realize. The email notification didn't seem to come through on the post and so I thought I hadn't actually posted my dilemma here after all!

Thanks Tenuviel.... that wasn't the case this time around for me...well...not in terms of specific recipes anyway. I had made chips, breads, crackers, smoothies, desserts, salads.....

Thanks Queen Bean...yes, actually, 4 years ago when I tried this, I made Alissa's fettucini with cashew sauce. OMG, I was aboslutely violently ill that night.... I really need to lay off the nuts and add more smoothies....

I did a cleanse for three weeks before I went raw and I've felt the opposite...I get revolted by the thought of what used to be my favorite foods...pizza and ice cream.

Hi Everyone
Id like to know how many people here turned raw right off the bat,
This would make for a great thread.

Last September l had no intentions of going 100% raw, let alone 50% raw. l only had one goal, that was to eat a huge bowl of alfalfa sprouts each night before my main meal. l had been raw once before and l had no interest in trying to go raw again. After a month l was feeling really good so l got inspired to add mung bean, chick pea and aduki bean sprouts as well. Soon came lots of fruit and l was eating raw until dinner each night. l still had no intentions of going 100% raw. This year l started having some completely raw days and found it wasn't too hard. Then l started watching raw food people on youtube and each night reading about raw foodests (l still am). Recently l thought l would give it a go to go 100% raw and see how it goes. l am finding that fermented wheat sprout water, green juices, fruit and chia seeds are a real blessing. l am blending most of my foods at the moment with the exception of chia seeds and fruit.

--------------
l found going 90% raw for a bunch of months before going 100% has been really advantageous. After eating raw all day l would try some of my favourite cooked food dishes and would find each time that they didn't taste as good as l thought they would. l found that the key to avoiding cooked food was to eat lots of alfalfa before the main cooked meal, this instantly takes the pleasure out of cooked food and changes the taste buds very quickly towards raw.

l had my first real challenge last night. l went to visit a friend and they were eating my old favourite (a pasta dish). They offered me some and it looked and smelled amazing. But l refused because l know from experience that it wouldn't taste as good as it looked or smelled, so l let it pass. Yes, going 90% first up taught me that cooked food ain't all that and that l can conquer it. l simply went home soon after and dived into my nut smoothie and all was good. *smile*
