I'm a raw newbie...a little over 30 days raw. I think I'm over the detox and fatigue stage from switching to raw and now I'm experiencing incredible energy and it's wonderful!!:woot:
However....I've noticed that in the afternoon while working I get a sudden onset of drowsiness and a drop in energy. I'm getting enough sleep. I'm rebounding for exercise. In the past it would be time for an afternoon cup of coffee but I gave that up last fall. Breakfast is usually a smoothie with fruit and lots of green like Kale, spinnach or parsley. Lunch is salad or fruit and occasionally I snack on nuts. By the time I'm out of work, I have my energy back in full. My question is..What do you do for an afternood pick me up?What type of raw food or snack can I keep at my desk that will give me a quick boost like coffee use to? By the way, I was over my coffee cravings before I went raw.

Banana maybe? Just make sure it's not less than 2-3 hours after the nuts.

Nuts are easy and handy/compact snack to have on hand. I used to get the same drained afternoon lull feeling and needed SOMETHING to get me through. A piece of fruit always did the trick. Apples, pears, pineapple chunks, or a little melon bowl always appealed to me. Whatever your favorites are, maybe go with that. Hope this helps.

Try to be aware if there is something causing the dip in energy - so rather than eating something to fix it, could you avoid it in the first place. For instance, if it only happens on the days you have nuts, maybe adjusting your lunch intake could be helpful.

All good advice. Thank you!! and I never thought of it being something I'm eating causing it. I'll have to be more conscious. I was just thinking that's the usual time for a coffee break and I don't drink coffee lol.
