Hello I am in New York, I have checked for many ways to get to Kittery, Maine... It's almost impossible unless you have a car to drive over there.

My question is:

Anyone from NY that is going to take the course willing to car pool? You can meet me before if you wish.

Aren't there any buses or trains going that way? I went from sunny SoCal in January. It was shrekkin' FREEZING!!!! but, I got there. Dogsled maybe?

Thanks for answering Revvell. I searched trains or buses. Not only that but the inns around that place, so I was told, were at car distance also. I would rent a car and go but I'm only 19 most car rental companies don't accept anyone under 25.

I really want to take this course, I have been saving up for quite some time for this one. Never knew that transportation would have been a problem. I guess since I'm in NY, I have a mindset that you can get anywhere with public transport. haha

Can you cancel your booking and go to a certification class closer to you?
ReneeH on this site does the certifications and she will come to you. She'll bring everything so you don't have to worry about having all the equipment.

I didn't dare to book the class yet. Due transport. But is she certified by Alissa?

I have my equipment as well. My thing that I want to do this, I hate to use the word but, as a career. Not in it for the money but the sheer helping of people is what drives me. I just want a certification by Alissa to help me out with some people that always demand you have a paper that says that I "know" what I am doing.

Being that I am in NY there are a lot of those. That is why I am interested in the Level 3 certification.

ReneeH has trained under Alissa! They're good friends practically.
ReneeH posts here regularly and her picture thread on this site shows a lot of dishes from Alissa's latest book! Renee teaches all levels. You should get in contact with her.

Here is one of her posts (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/showthread.php?t=62851).

Yes, I am certified by Alissa to teach Level's 1 and 2. Alissa herself is the only one who teaches Level 3. The way it works is quite simple. Whatever Certification Class that you take Certifies you to teach the Level below, through Alissa's program. So,

Take Level 3 (from Alissa herself in Boston): You are able to teach Levels 1 and 2 as a Certified Living On Live Food Teacher.

Take Level 2 after taking Level 1 (from a Certified Alissa Cohen Teacher): You are able to teach Level 1 as a Certified Living On Live Food Instructor.

Take Level 1 class only (from a Certified Alissa Cohen Teacher): You are not able to teach Alissa Cohen Classes, but will receive a certificate as a Living On Live Food Chef.

If teaching Levels 1 and 2 are what you would like to do, I encourage you to take Alissa's upcoming Class in Kittery in May. You will *not* regret the experience!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was a financial struggle for me to get there, but I honestly would *NOT* change one thing about my journey....especially in attending Alissa's Class. She will teach you how to think outside the box...how to realize and follow your dream of Teaching and how to succeed in your Raw lifestyle and teaching others. Everything I've accomplished in my Raw Business started with taking Alissa's Class. I'm sincere when I say that. Learning from the someone who is the best at what they do is priceless.

As great as Alissa is, she can't be everywhere all the time. So her Teachers and Instructors are there to help you to realize your dream at an affordable cost. Any Teacher or Instructor that you choose will do their best to help you, following Alissa's suggestions and style.

I am the only Alissa Cohen Teacher (that I know of...) that is willing to travel to YOU to hold classes. I do charge a fee (per day) to do that. If you are interested, send me an e-mail and I'll go over that with you.

Even though many of my Clients have their own equipment, I do not rely on that. From experience I've learned that 1) equipment breaks, 2) it's better to be prepared with what you need, if you are teaching, and 3) it's better to be prepared with what you need, if you are teaching!!! ;)

If you look at the Teacher Site: www.RawTeacher.Com and click on find a Teacher in your area, you will see that there are many Teachers in your area, too!!! Of course, they aren't "ME".... :)

I don't doubt anything you say. It's just so difficult for me right now. I believe I have to settle for now to take the course of a local Raw restaurant owner I also like I get a one day internship at his place.

Alissa is definitely one of my heroes. I will definitely meet her one way or another one day just to give her a hug for inspiring me to go with what I love. As a 19 year old, who decided to drop everything else, it is a bit hard to forget about a college diploma and such but Alissa just... iunno has a way to tell you to do what you love.

One way or another I am decided to make my future raw business function well. Before that I want to make sure I have enough skills and information to deliver to people. As I love people I wanna make sure they can get the best out of me.

From your original post it sounded like you were looking for a way to get to Kittery....from this last post you sound like you never intended to go....

You seem unsure about what you want to do.

The thread is a bit confusing now...

Well I've been thinking about it for days. I did intend to go and then I saw how hard it is to get there and how much more funds it would take for me to do the trip which It would be hard for me to get.

I'm sorry if I come by as confused I have been talking to a few people about this. The change to take the other course is something that was in my head from the start but I always would have prefered Alissa's.
