Does anyone know for sure? There is contradictory information on the internet. For example, the following website says it is highly inflammatory. But many other websites say it is anti-inflammatory.

There is always conflicting information on the internet isn't it? It's a wonder we know anything!
When I clicked on the link it was set at 1 cup, not a tbsp. One tbsp @ 116 kcal makes it moderately inflammatory. I doubt that anyone would eat 1 full cup of Coconut Oil.

all i can tell you is this.
i have an issue with needing anti-flammatories... even while fasting. but i found that when i switched to only water and then coconut water... i didn't need the arnica i was taking anymore.
so for me... it seems to be anti-inflammatory.
cause water fasting is very anti-inflammatory and if i took in something flammatory immediately after... i would have felt it. i am very connected to my body.

There is some research that has been done by Dr. Bruce Fife. ( Naturalpathic Dr.) I have his book called The Detox Book which is all about improving health, reversing di-sease and reversing aging. He is a big promoter of Coconut. Inflammation is a major contributor of di-seases of all kinds so I'm leaning toward beliving it is an ant-inflammatory.

Thank you for posting that link! I've been trying to find that site for the last couple weeks and just couldn't remember what it was called.

Without question raw coconut oil is healing. The research that came to conclusion that it wasn't could have been done on none raw coconut too.
When my daughter would have skin rash, i would apply raw coconut oil and it would cure the same day. With regular coconut oil (none raw), it wouldn't.
You will have to try and see for yourself

Thanks for all the replies. I conclude coconut oil is good then.
I talked to two dealers of coconut oil. They both told me there is no such thing as raw coconut oil. One went further to say that even refined coconut oil is as good as any coconut oil because coconut oil can stay stable around 400 degrees (F. or C. I have forgotten). They also said that enzymes need moisture (water) to function, so it really does not matter whether coconut oil is raw or not because the lipase enzymes will not function anyway. Just think I might share this.

Not true, i have raw coconut at home, lol... i have also another brand that has to be kept in my fridge so pure it is. I think those poeple are lacking of information. Telling you that it does the same raw or not, right of way is a red flag with the knowledge they have.
I am telling you the ordinary coconut oil wouldn't work for diaper rash, it had to be raw.
Enjoy your coconut oil!

Raw Angel Mom, what brand of raw coconut oil do you have and where could one get it? I am certainly interested in getting the best coconut oil.
