We are taking off to Oregon today sometime after dh gets home.
What are the best things to take on a road trip?!
I am planning on taking fruit, but that's all I've come up with! :)

Also, we are travelling from Idaho to Grants Pass Oregon, does anyone know of a raw restaurant on the way or in Oregon?!

Thanks

I envy you, as I have a son/grandson in Portland Oregon and would love to to get that direction.

When we did a 7-day drive about, we took a large cooler packed mostly with fruit -- but also some greens (salad making stuff),avocados and such, and a couple small containers of our salad dressing. We froze several bottles of water to keep it cool, and as they thawed, we used them for drinking.

We stopped at grocery stores along the way to replenish our stock.

You can also take some dried granola, or dried fruit and the like if you have any -- or crackers and such.

Don't have a clue about restaurants along the way, but we found we could get a salad most anywhere - some more decent than others. I carried copies of a list of stuff that would be great in a salad, gave to our server, and that usually sparked their creativity.

Have a GREAT trip!!!

Terry,

Thanks for your reply. I need to get some nuts I think to take along, though I have not been eating many of those lately.
Oh yeah, I remember that thread about carrying that card around and giving it to the server and they can throw whatever they've got into the salad.
Great idea, now off to find that thread!

Vegggeeemom,

Hope your trip was great! I know it's always nice to get away and have some family time.

I know you probably did great with your eating choices and I can't wait to hear well you've done!
