I live in California, by the way.
Seems like I tried to research this awhile ago, and couldn't find any definitive results.
The idea peeves me.
Our small town's water is not fluoridated, but many neighboring towns/cities are.
My (holistic) MD brought up a good point when I told him I loved the organic produce at XX store. He said, "Well, don't buy it at the (neighboring town) store because even though it's organic, they spray it down (those rain shower nozzles that keep the produce wet all the time) with fluroridated water." I'm glad he mentioned that, I haven't shopped there since and I would never have known or thought of that. *Ü*

where I live they treat the water with chlorine and flourine. It tastes and smells like pool water. So you have to filter it. The majority of people think it is ok to drink though. It is basically a mild acid.

Some places do; some don't. Totally illegal yet, it's happening.

I see.
I looked into it a little further -- chances are, we're getting fluoridated here.
Deleterious health effects of fluoride aside, it seems an outrageous transgression of our freedom to be forcibly medicated through water supply! That's the plot of a science fiction movie! If people have such a hankering for fluoride, they can buy some fluoride toothpaste! 8(
