Anyone ever had this? My pee has been a bright greenish colour today. Never happened before and it worries me a bit. I've been mega-dosing with various supplements and hope that I haven't done something bad to myself. I drink a lot of water, so I'm not sure how it would look less diluted - darker obviously, but I can only imagine, since I've had a lot of water today.

Sigh. Twenty years of health and nutrition study and I still seem to get myself into mysterious troubles.

Oh, and I haven't had any asparagus.

well B vits make your urine go bright yellow so it could be a combo of something if you are adding a lot of green pigments.

Thanks for the reply, but I haven't had any vitamin B complex supplements.

I have had chlorella and a few other things, though chlorella was the only green one. I haven't heard of chlorella doing this, but maybe I missed it. I very rarely take it.

Heavy on the greens (chlorophyll) will do it, or it might be the nuclear radiation.:backsout:

For what it's worth - I take chlorella (1 heaping teaspoon) and spirulina (1 teaspoon) daily and it's never turned my urine green - even when I was taking 1 tablespoon each. But maybe that's a girl thing? I just Googled "green urine" and there might be info there that could help out - there were lots of hits.

I don't know it for a fact so I shouldn't have stated it like I did. I've had it happen a couple times, not regularly. Maybe there is some other condition behind it, but I figured it was from all the chlorophyll during heavy greens consumption. This last time I noticed it, I'd had lots of spinach, spirulina, kale, and lettuces in my smoothies with more kale in salads.
At times, not always, I can tell a tinge of orange from juicing carrots, and almost always get the red beet tint.

Mega dosing on supplements? You are brave! What are they?

Thanks for the replies. Maybe it was just from a ton of green stuff. Though, if that were the case, I'd expect it to come up for others in the raw community pretty frequently. In any case, with the amount of beets I had last night being green is not a problem today! That's not exactly addressing the root cause, I know. I'll keep an eye on it for a few days.

Oh, and I've mostly been mega-dosing with vitamin C and just taking regular amounts of everything else. I've had a lot of maca lately as well, which has iron in it, so I'll have to check into that to make sure I'm not getting too much iron. Hmm.
