Hello. I've never tried wheatgrass juice before. I bought some organic wheatgrass today and was looking forward to making a smoothie out of it, but then I read that you need a "wheat grass juicer" to properly extract the juice from the grass. I read that if you just throw it in a blender or whatever, you won't get the juices out well, and that the grass itself may be hard to digest.
So, I'm really hungry TONIGHT. What are my options in terms of using the wheatgrass now? I have a standard blender, as well as this item http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&safe=off&rlz=1G1TSNA_ENUS423&q=kitchenaid+chef's+chopper&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&wrapid=tlif130145519687310&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=12483027660983561273&sa=X&ei=ZaGSTa_OIs2_tgeXqoBQ&ved=0CDMQ8gIwAg#.

Hi janikowski ~ I've got the same KA food processor :) Before I got a juicer that would actually juice wheat grass - I used my blender. It's a high power blender though. But, if you really want to give it a try tonight, here's what I'd recommend.
I'd cut the blades of wheat grass into thirds or fourths (depending how long the blades are) this way you're helping out the blender. Then I'd put in just enough filtered water to allow the blender to blend the water with the wheat grass.
If you have something like a nut milk bag / strainer - then strain this mixture through the bag and drink what's left and compost/toss the wheat grass pulp.
But - don't make a huge judgement call on what you'll be drinking, the watery wheat grass juice. I did this for months in my BlendTec and when I got a juicer.....and tasted just the wheat grass juice (with no water) the real McCoy didn't taste anything like what I'd drink from my blender. Just sayin'!
If your blender really struggles with the cut up wheat grass, I wouldn't force it. Hope this helps. *Ü*
