Hello All,

I am new to this site--but almost 90% raw over the past few months. ( I still eat some steamed veggies. ) I find myself in a dilema and rut and am very open to suggestions please!! I have IBS, Fibromyalgia, and celiac. Since I have food combined for years and soak nuts etc...I do not "suffer" too much since I avoid triggers etc..... I am just wondering if anyone else has these issues and can successfully eat 100% raw?? Spicy heavy foods kill my stomach--though they taste great. Am I stuck eating my plain fruit and veggies and flax oil diet forever:)?? I should also mention that garlic ginger etc still bug the belly? I am slo a food addict in recovery--Thank God/dess so overeating occasionally is not an option for me. I do not have a dehydrator--yet--b/c i fear the food will be too hard to resist or digest. ??

Thanks
JMD

If you are at it long enough, irritating foods will no longer be a pull as your body will tell you.

Many, well most of us here still struggle with cravings for cooked foods, grains, etc. Garlic and spices are no different for you. If they are wreaking havoc in your body, then they probably don't belong in there.

You may want to try some fresh herbs like cilantro, parsley, dill, etc.

Green onions are milder than white onions.

Sesame seeds or tahini instead of ginger.

If you really want garlic, maybe try a dash of powder instead of the fresh stuff, which is so much stronger.

Thanks for your response. Actually I am embarrassed to say it is raw foods that call me since I have been to a raw restaurant and definately overindulged. I 'm such a plain person I use hardly any flavor and have gotten accustomed to that way of life. So now I find I want to try more The summertime is easier for me to be almost 100% raw--it is cold in New England so I am struggling a bit with that. I actually stay away from grains or sprouted beans b/c they are major problems. I guess I am wondering if anyone else has struggles eating/assimating all raw--with IBS and is there just a transition period?? to 100% I find it is not what put in my mouth, but what I absorb and assimilate that I focus on. I hope this is making sense..I am awfuly scattered today..sorry:)
