I'm pretty sure I am!

bayou - is your husband military? I ask because mine is gone now but will be back for a bit in April and gone again.

He works out of town to different locations for Direct TV. He is usually back on Thur every week. Seems I am just getting started up good when he's back. I haven't figured out how to cook for him and not want the food he is going to eat. Thanks for asking. I have talked to him about raw but he is not interested. I will try to slip him some stuff that he really doesn't know is raw. Like the pizza. I haven't made that yet.

Hey everyone! I am in as well, continuing my 30 days from March and keeping on!

April will be hard for me so this will be a challenge for sure. My husband is military as well and he got orders to Korea. Unfortunately, we have not got accompanied orders yet. I might either be moving to Korea with him or going back to Wyoming (in Maryland now) with the two kids while my husband goes to Korea for a year. So either way, I am looking at a stressful move within the next six weeks.

My husband is not raw, neither are my kids. I cook for them every meal. It is not easy but they are supportive and often taste what I make even if they don't like it. It takes a little extra willpower but its worth it.

So excited!!! :woohoo:

Aleesha, is this the thread we are using for Aprils sign in? If it is, I'm in for April. I was sick the first part of March, so I wasn't ready to do the challenge. Now I'm feeling good and I'm ready for April's 30 Day Challenge!

I am sooooo up for this. I have been back and forth for years with raw and I'm sick of the excuses I make and how I continue to sabotage my health. Enough is enough and April 1st can't get here fast enough. hahahaha

See you all then, I can't wait!

I'm new to RFT, as you can tell! Hi, everybody!
Is the challenge 100% raw for 30 or something more specific? There may well be a sticky on this, huh? Maybe I should go look. LOL!

I'm in...just have to go see what I'm in FOR. ;-)

I am in for the first half of April at least - finishing 30 days of 100% raw. I will probably extend after the 30 days, but my promise is 30 days. :)

I'm in the same situation! My husband works abroad from Tuesday to Friday and I have no problem staying 100% raw while he's gone. Weekends are harder, even though he's very supportive of my raw diet (he doesn't want to try it though).

I think I'll just commit to the April challenge and try to stay on course for a month. So... I'm in, I guess. :D

Thanks evphoria. I think I am going to make up some more tempting raw meals. So what he gets is not so appealing. There are so many recipes to choose from. I really want to loose the wt so I am to do what the book says and stay away from a lot of nuts. It says avocados and olives are better. I'm sure I will have some nuts because I really like them but not so many. This will be my first challenge. :cheer:

I'm sure I will have some nuts because I really like them but not so many. This will be my first challenge. :cheer:

I have to say that the last time I went raw, it was tough getting used to feeling like I wasn't eating as much food but the nuts really got me through that hungry feeling. Of course you don't want to indulge but I found I ate them a lot at first to get me used to not eating as much food and the weight still fell off so easily. I actually found that the weight fell off faster if I ate something every two hours no matter what it was, an apple here then a banana there, then a handful of nuts, then a salad.....whatever it was didn't matter as long as I continued to fuel my fire.

Basically I found that I could eat anytime I was hungry because there is nothing bad in the raw world......it's all good for you.

I'm determined to do this again because I have never been as healthy and thin as when I was raw and I've gained back a ton of weight and need to make this commitment for my health and well being.

So I'm excited to be here and to have the support of all you fellow raw fooders.

I think it's better to eat a few more nuts (if they help you to stay raw) than to spoil your effort with cooked food. What I've noticed is that it helps me if I write down everything I eat. That way I'm more responsible about food, because I know I'll have to write it down and answer for my actions to my diary. I know it sounds silly, but it seems to work (most of the time). :D
What Hygeia said is true - eating every 2 or 3 hours helps as well!

I'm still struggling a lot though. Last summer I finished a 1-month challenge and I've never felt better than in those few weeks. But I slipped one time and then completely fell off the wagon. :/

I want to do the challenge again and I think this forum is great for support. Now I'm so excited I can't wait to start!

Yea, this blog has become my latest source of inspiration:http://imsorawkin.blogspot.com/

Also totally adore Angela Stokes-Monarch. (Her hubby, Matt, is a little weird for my tastes, but I think she's a peach).
http://rawreform.blogspot.com/

And the Rawkin' chic (don't even know her name) said something in a blog post that I : (and I'm paraphrasing)
You may not want to do what you have to do at the time, but ask yourself if you're willing.
I'm applying this to raw. If it's cold and rainy, I may not want a cold (raw) lunch. If there is cooked food in the fridge (I don't live alone) I may not want to make a salad. But I ask myself if I'm willing and it makes a world of difference!!!

Don't put energy into "scared" or "failure." Yuck! Put energy on the positive stuff! :throwhearts:
I mean, what's the worst that would happen anyway? You make it a few days and slip up and start again or you make it mostly raw most of the days but you don't manage 100% for 30 days? You're still a far sight better off for what you DID manage than what you did not get "perfect."

Lots of the best leaders in the raw food movement remind people that it's way more about what you leave OUT than what you put IN. So if you leave out MOST of the cooked food (meaning that MOST of your food was raw) you're doing something great for your body, mind and spirit!

I look forward to seeing you all at the end of this month victorious.

I think I'm in! I am in the final weeks of finishing my degree so I'm not going to put added stress upon myself by using the '100%' thing, but I will check in everyday and see where it takes me and then in May I can commit to a full 100% 30 days. Yeah, I think that sounds really good to me :D

Hi everyone!

A 2 part breakfast because we're going to be out and about for awhile today.

Buckwheat flake cereal, raisins, raw almond milk.
Smoothie - raw almond milk, peaches, banana, nutmeg, vanilla.

eta: I didn't take a pic today, but the cereal was like this one, but no apples today - I was hungry and just wanted to throw stuff in a bowl and eat :D
