Here's yet another recipe for a green smoothie. I like to add the superfood chia to boost nutrition

Recipe from here (http://challengedhealthnut.blogspot.com/2011/03/i-love-smoothies.html)

handful of kale
handful of spinach
1/2 mango
1/2 banana
1 Tbsp chia seeds
water
Place ingredients into a blender, and blend on high until smooth. Adjust the amount of water depending on how thick or thin you like your smoothie.
Drink to your health!

I've been making something similar to that but using apple juice instead of water and also some frozen berries which turns it less green and gives it a nice taste...

do you soak your chia for at least 10 minutes before putting them in to make a sort of gel? Apparently (I don't have my own laboratory to confirm this, but it seems to make sense) this makes them even more beneficial. :-)

^ According to this article (http://www.living-foods.com/articles/chia.html), the gel formation that you achieve when you soak the seeds also occurs in your stomach. So it doesn't appear that soaking is necessary.

Flax seeds have the same gel forming reaction, though, so if there's any benefit in soaking chia, I assume the same would apply to flax.

Why would you want it less green? Hah, personally I find the vibrant green color to be quite attractive!

1 cup frozen Blueberries
6 frozen strawberries
2 bananas
2 big handfuls of baby spinach
1/4-1/2 of water sweetened with dates (could also use agave instead)
Add water for desired consistency

Ooo! Im so trying this tomorrow! Will probably double it though. Im pretty much obsessed with chia, I put it in every green smoothie I make and anywhere else I can slip it in!
