Hi, Well I plan on doing a 20 day water fast to treat myself for leaky gut syndrome and try and rid myself of eczema I have had for years. I have read and learned what to do to bring myslef out of the fast, but what do I eat for meals and food after the fast? I am a anything type of diet guy, I mainly eat what food we have in the cubourds because most of the time that is all we can afford. And until I can find a job to support a perfect diet, What would be cheap healthy permanent meals for the months/years after the fast?
Also I have learned that to treat leaky gut syndrome using slippery elm and marshmellow root in gruels, will help in aiding the healing process of tears in the gut. But do I use this before the fast? Or can I do it while fasting? Will it have any ill effects during the fast if I do use them, or do I eat meals before the fast and use it, and then fast? Any help is greatly apreciated, I have suffered from this eczema for tooo long, and this is my last resort. Thanks.

I would suggest you do a juice fast instead of a water fast. Save the water fasting for a little later down the road when you have already done a juice fast and you are already eating healthier.

I've only done extended juice fasts with maybe a day at a time of water only then back to juice. I haven't done water only fasts. But here's what I've learned...... water fasting is intense, you will detox a lot and you will detox fast. I've read from one place that going from SAD to a water only fast can be harmful. It's preferred to use juice to help neutralize the toxins as your body is releasing em, and save the water fasting until you have already done a bit of detoxing using juice fasts and a raw food diet. Plus on a juice fast you'll be flooding your body with nutrients, minerals, enzymes, and all that good stuff.

I forgot to add this.... Get yourself some really good probiotics for when you end your fast. I know you said that you learned how to end the fast but I still wanted to add this.
