If i used 1/4 cup nuts how much water would i use? And i have a jelly bag? Would that work the same as a nut milk bag?
I would use 1 cup water with 1/4 cup almonds. I'm not exactly sure what a jelly bag is, but I'm guessing if you can squeeze cooked fruit in it to get out its juice - then you can probably squeeze the nut pulp in it as well.
I like adding a little bit of sweetener (I use dates), vanilla extract and a teeny pinch of salt when I make my nut milks. I add all that after I've processed the nuts and water and put it through the strainer. Then I put the milk back in the blender and add the rest. You don't have to add that - we just enjoy it that way. *Ü*

Thanks so much! Im going to try that. Do you soak the nuts before making the milk too?
Yes, I do soak the nuts first ~ typically overnight. *Ü*

You're very welcome ~ enjoy that nut milk! (Brazil nut milk is a favorite of ours too, so creamy) *Ü*

I use 1 cup of almonds to 4 cups water (same as Deb's lol)...interested to try the brazil nuts. Also I found a place that sells broken raw cashews for the same price as almonds so will give them a whirl as well...I use dates and honey but dont use the bottled vanilla extract as largely it is alcohol.

in a recipe book I have it says not to use the broken cashew pieces because they will be drier and things won't turn out as creamy. Depends what you are making and whether or not you care I guess though.

I tried the Brazil nut milk today. Wow really tasty. Much nicer than almond I think. Almond milk has a very strong flavour.
