Hi,
I have been reading up on juicers and was wondering which people went for? At the moment I am leaning towards the kempo for better juice yield/ease of use and you can juice more with it over the Champion.
How did you decide on yours?
Thanks

What have you found is the major differences between them? I was also looking at the greenstar elite 5000, I don't mind paying a little extra if its good.

i'm not sure which greenstar i have... but time is the main issue... soft fruits being the second. champion does better on both these fronts.
my hubby LOVES the greenstar. he's happy to stand with it and make me the most wonderful juices.
i'm not so patient LOL so i prefer to use the champion.
that said... if i only had one of these juicers... i'd be thrilled with either choice!

I'm sorry, I originally posted in the wrong forum, so I was moving it to the right one.
I was actually asking about a different product - the green star elite 5000 rather than the green star kempo as in the original post in the wrong forum. I did have a quick look at the threads but didnt see anything that delt with the greenstar elite 5000 specifically and have spent most of the day trawling for details regarding it on the internet. Thats why I was asking in a different thread entitled "Greenstar Elite 5000".
Apologies. Having a bit of a tough time on raw at the moment for reasons, and am just trying to work out what may help as quickly as possible so I can stop feeling down about it.
Kat.

my experience (with juicing and fasting)... it doesn't really matter what you use to juice... as long as you juice. centrifugal juicers certainly aren't as good as masticating, twin gears etc.
once you get into the higher end juicers... it's just personal preference.
from what i've read and experienced with greenstar and champion... the main difference is time spent juicing. YES the greenstar gives a better product... no doubt about that. but if you don't have the patience to juice with it you won't be gifting your body any product!
so... do you have patience and time? then get the greenstar. if you need to juice quicker... get the champion.

I think, although the greenstar is significantly more expensive, I'll probably go for that one. I've seen some videos of it and it doesnt look that bad for time - for morning juices I'd probably make them the night before.
If I'm going to make juices then I'd like one I can get maximum return on, even if it takes a bit longer on cleanup. I think you can still make nut butters on it and what you can do on the champion. One of the primary reasons is for juicing greens and maybe eventually wheatgrass.
I've never been very good at it but I love cooking and following recipes so maybe the extra time spent with the juicer would help this. I've been following raw gourmet books, spent a fortune on nuts/seeds and other weird and wonderful products, to find that all it has done is (while the weight has come off and stayed off after the detox I went on) steadily make me bloated and constipated, which has lead to my current raw issues.
On the plus side I now realise what raw did do for me... I went to a BBQ last night and splurged on everything I shouldnt have because I was feeling so down, and have woken up feeling absolutely awful and sick.
So am positively looking forward to going back to raw today! And an 8 mile walk should clear my head hopefully! Thinking of going for the 7 day detox challenge from raw radiant health this week to help get back on track and learn more about food combining.
thank you for all your help.

I have a Green Star and, admittedly, haven't owned any other juicer, so I can't offer a comparison. I will just say that the time issue doesn't faze me. I guess since I don't know how fast Champions juice, I therefore can't be disappointed, but I think the Green Star works just fine and it juices fast enough for me! I also thought that making juice slower was a good sign and creates less oxidation?
Anyway, I love my Green Star. Some people here will also complain about how long it takes to clean, but as with anything else, practice makes perfect. I can now clean the entire juicer in about 4-5 minutes.

it takes you that long to clean it? i've timed it with both my champion and greenstar and it's just under a minute for each one. ;)
*zips around the room twice* see how quick I am? LOL
and kat, congrats on your new greenstar! (she shared her purchase in another thread)

champion is also decent if you get it for much cheaper, then i would get it.
i am getting my green star 2000 this week. have the l'equip 110 mini and its noisy, crappy, horrible.
