This is all in my head and I know it.
Today is my birthday and I guess because of that I am craving cooked foods.
I have not had this craving in about 2-3 weeks.
So, do you think that sometimes special occassions such as birthdays, holidays, parties etc. bring that craving on?

Happy birthday!!
Well, hmmmm...I don't know. I do admit to thinking of certain foods I especially love this time of year like potatoes.
But, so far no cravings.
Have a great day! Doing anything special?

Absolutely, definitely and oh yes! lol :)
I find that all the time. My association of birthdays, holidays etc, even my period of all things~so many memories tied up in food and "spoling" or "treating" myself.
I still do it, just with yummy raw. Treat yourself to the absolute yummiest raw food, light candles, make a raw cake or torte, ask for a massage. It is still very important to spoil yourself on these occasions so you dont feel deprived. Now though, it is just time to treat yourself to health-honoring treats and delights.
I had 2 clients, a couple, that I was coaching on raw food and they had a terrible time on their anniversary because they associated it with steak dinner and alcohol out on the town. It's about love truly though, not food.
So I believe its a very common thing. In fact, its a ritual.
It is time to make new associations, new memories, new rituals. You deserve them SO much!
Happy birthday beautiful woman. You are looking so gorgeous and I am so proud of you.
Big Hugs~

I think we,as cooked food addicts,, tend to try and make any occassion a reason for giving in and eating cooked.....but good for you to not give in to the temptations!!
Hope you have a very happy day and good luck finding an outfit ;)

Happy Birthday Pam!
Yes, I can relate to food cravings during certain occasions...holidays especially. It's really all mental (as I'm sure you know). But just make your absolutely most favorite raw things so you don't feel deprived! Whip up (or ask your dh to do it for you) Alissa's date nut torte!

Happy Birthday Pam!...on your birthday you're over 40 days raw right? That's pretty cool don't you think? Think about this tonight. When was the last birthday you've felt this good? That's another reason to celebrate I bet.
Be good to yourself,
Tim

Wow you all! Thank you for the birthday wishes! I really appreciate them.
I was going to list each person that had responded, but it was quite a few, so just saying a general thank you.
Yes, I found a few outfits and I must say I feel fabulous in them! Down to a size that I was in before I got pregnant with my second child! Wowie, that's an awesome birthday present for me! ;)
I was pretty high on that most of the night! The rush of being able to fit into a pair of jeans that I would have just laughed at before is so exciting.
Did not get a pair of shoes. That will have to be my on my next adventure out!
Yes, I have been raw for over 40 days and the last time I felt this good on a birthday? Not sure. So, it is so worth it to not eat cooked.
Oh and in case you're wondering. Did I eat any cooked?! ;)
NO! I just could not bring myself to do it. I've come to far to turn around and look down the dark road of cooked again!
