Greetings peeps!

Sssooooo I've been having an issue lately and am at my wits end. A few months ago I started feeling UTI symptoms. The biggest symptom is the "I need to pee" urgency feeling, even when I don't need to pee - I notice no burning during urination, some cramping after, no weird smells, no odd color in my urine. I am sexually active, but always careful about peeing after sex (and have been recently tested for any potential other infections). I noticed the UTI symptoms seemed to flare up a week or so before my period, along with spotting bleeding.

This past month it got really bad, the urgency feeling, especially right after I empty my bladder and at the end of the day. I also had spotting for much longer than normal, so I went to the gyno because I was getting concerned I had something bad going on. The doc I saw did basically nothing, a very cursory exam, concluded I have low estrogen, with no testing for it, and that birth control would help it. I haven't been on b.c. for a while now, around 8 months, and I've found my periods aren't that bad, are regular, though I still do get headaches. Thinking being on b.c. wouldn't be an awful idea (you know, for birth control) - and that maybe the UTI symptoms were related, I started it about 3 weeks ago. It has been AWFUL. HORRIBLE stomach issues (HORRIBLE cramping, nausea - so bad it wakes me up in the middle of the night). I now feel totally toxic from it - which is probably partially mental but . . .

On the UTI front, the doc blindly put me on a sulfa based antibiotic and ordered a urine culture. The culture came back "no growth" but "contaminated" with enteroccous (e.coli - found in our guts anyway) - she said the culture didn't grow any bacteria though, which usually is present with a UTI . . . after a few days on the sulfa based I felt no better, so she switched me to Macrobid, since I "still had symptoms". After taking two of them, then reading more about it online, I quit taking it. Right or wrong, I'm not even sure I have an infection, and I didn't want to risk the antibiotic side effects for something I might not have.

The past three weeks have been bad. The past two days the worst. The urgency feeling is SO UNCOMFORTABLE. I actually feel like I can sometimes make it a bit less annoying by clenching my stomach/kegels (sp) up . . . but it usually just goes back to uncomfortable. I also kind of feel sore, down there . . . which I realize could be from sex . . . but I've never had that issue from sex before, and I'm not doing anything CRAZY either. I wouldn't call it burning, but there is definitely another kind of crampy/sore feeling the past few days.

I am at my wits end and want to cry. I don't know what to do. I admit, I'm not on 100% raw . . . I try to be good with any non-raw choices though. I am WICKEDLY craving sugar lately too.

I've tried D-Mannose supplementation, Uva Ursi for about a week, cranberry supplements, probiotics, and lots of water, but it isn't getting better. I beg those of you out there with superior knowledge about these things to PLEASE help me! Is there a cleanse I should try? Raw things I should consume a lot of, or avoid? Has anyone else had this issue and made it go away without antibiotics and ick??!?! And any cleansing/detoxing tips would be appreciated - I seriously feel so heavy and toxic from the pharmaceuticals I stupidly took and probably shouldn't have . . HELP!

P.S. - Sorry this is so long . . .

not sure but all I can offer is try drinking cranberry juice (instead of supplements) morning and night. Also when you rise you could try juice of half a lemon in some warm water and honey. Also I'm a big fan of the chlorella powder, 1 teaspoon in water daily. And you could try a daily green smoothie packed with raw leafy greens...will fix just about anything imo.

It could also be detox, so perhaps just give it some time as well.

Food sensitivities can cause urgency to urinate.
