Ok, this is going to be an obvious answer I think, but for some reason my body was craving nut butter and fat this morning, and I had like, 1000 kcal from raw cashew butter, mixed it with raw honey and an apple. I now feel like an emotionless dolt who want to do nothing but sleep and stair blankly into space.

I take it this is just my body having a tough time digesting all of this and this is why I feel so energy depleted and depressed.

Thoughts? Anybody ever have an experience like this?

Yeah, i would feel the same. That is a pretty heavy load on the digestive system! If you are craving lots of nut butter it may be that you haven't gotten enough calories for the day. Many people go onto raw foods from a cooked diet and don't realize how many fewer calories they are actually consuming and the body doesn't have time to adjust. It's definitely important to eat enough volume of fresh fruits and vegetables especially in the beginning so that caloric needs are met and you don't end up eating jars of nut butter, because yep that will just bog you down big time. Plus another thing, mixing that much fat and sugar together could have caused an issue. The fat makes it very hard for the sugar to absorb from the bloodstream into the cells for energy use, causing blood sugar and candida issues. Just some thoughts for you!

That's a lot of fat!

Haha, consider it a lesson learned, but hopefully it was nice? :)

Remember this feeling. It will be valuable in the future to help keep cravings in check. I have a memory from a Christmas Party and a large slice of chocolate torte. Heart beating out of my chest. Whew!

Heh of course you're slugish :) Fat takes long until it's digested, and you should never mix that much of it with fruits and honey. It could take as much as 5 hours to digest that stuff, and during that time all your energy goes into digestion. After it's digested, you're left with little energy and a lot of fat, which is anyways not a good energy source. So you continue feeling slugish for the next 5 hours as well, until some carbohydrates from you next meal (hopefully you don't eat so much fat again) get into the blood.

Edit: and you especially don't eat so much fat in the morning! When you wake up you're already low on energy, since you haven't eaten anything in the past 8 hours.

If you felt the need to eat a lot of it, i wouldn't worry about this, maybe you needed the fat from that. You need to be careful where your raw butter come from because many time such raw almond butter from US isn't raw, they allow to say raw but this isn't because the US law require that all almond nut to be pasteurize.

This isn't honest i know but hopefully when enough people express their concern they will change the law.

For now don't worry about that. Also, raw nut butter isn't a live food because it hasn't been soak before making it. Nut are always easier to digest if you soak them to release the inibitor enzyme. I prefer eating my nut in form of fermented food such cheese, yougurt, fermented crackers etc...

I hope you feel well soon, this is a good experience and you now learn that your body doesn't like too much of that at once.

All the best
