most of the time, I am 100% raw, though every fortnight or so I have to have white bread or pasta.. and afterwards I always feel good as in its what my body wanted. I think its the starchy carbs my body craves, although Id prefer a good raw source.. any ideas?

It seems weird that your body would want processed, refined carbs, but I'm glad you're feeling ok after it.

Hmm, some raw starchy carbs...

I quite like buckwheat; there's a lot of stuff I can do with it, like soak it overnight and have it mixed with raisins and cinnamon as a 'rice pudding'. Or sprout it, dry it in the dehydrator to make buckwheat crumbles, and use it as a cereal with nut milk or sprinkle it on top of puddings etc.

I haven't tried it as a savoury dish, but I'm sure you could soak it overnight, throw it in the food processor with diced veggies like tomatoes / peppers, and add spices, and dehydrate it as crackers.

Other than the fortnight 'treat', how raw is your diet? Do you think you might be lacking anything to make your body 'crave' white bread? Like, say, maybe not enough greens, or maybe not quite eating enough in general?

Hope you're doing well!

Might I suggest that it is not your body needing the starch but the addiction calling you back. I find that perfectly understandable as that is how addictions work and we have all been subject to it.
My cure is that you always leave a longer gap between eating it. So next time instead of having some after 2 weeks go 3 days more and then the following time go for 3 weeks and then 4.
After some time the need will pass.
In the meantime make sure that you get enough calories.

Bananas, bananas, bananas. Eat like 3-4 or even more when you get a craving for white bread or pasta. The starchy sweetness of the banana always helps me during these times.

I know what it's like to crave bread...I'm still craving bread...but our bodies definitely do not need white flour products like bread or pasta!
