Hi everyone, I am in need of your personal experiences. Things just clicked for me this morning. Before returning to school in the summer after a long hiatus, my sleeps were peaceful and restful. I didn't feel groggy, when I woke up. I certainly didn't feel like I do now which is apathetic and lethargic all the time. (Seriously, I can barely string a sentence together.)

Good news is I got straight A's the second half of the semester and for the Fall. Bad news is I usually turned to fast food after a school day. That was the kind of fuel I was sustaining on while waking up at 5:30am every weekday and getting an A in class where about 4 students ever only get it. It's miraculous what our bodies can deal with! Now that I'm taking a break from school to study for entrance exams, I'm sleeping all the time. The sleep don't even rejuvenate me. I haven't ate any fast food in about a week and have been searching for answers about why the sudden change in mood. It's ridiculous to feel sleepy all the time.

All of a sudden, it just clicked for me this morning. It's my diet. My body pretty much stepped its foot down! This is where I need help from all of you.

How much damage have I done, and how long does this usually lasts? :backsout:

well, liver damage is usually reversible. kidney damage usually not. and so it goes - some damage is reversible and some is permanent.

the good news is that we're all going to die one day, so don't beat yourself up too much - you're just going to die sooner than some of us :)

what kind of help is it that you're looking for? do you want us to beg you to stop killing yourself ? i say it's a free country.

if you want consistent energy throughout the day eliminate all cooked and processed food and all liquid sugars, then spread your meals evenly throughout the day. you can add a B complex multivitamin for additional energy.

to get the most out of your sleep make sure when you sleep it is very dark and very quiet. just because you are sleeping doesn't mean you are sleeping at 100% efficiency. you need 10 hours of quality sleep for full recovery.

to burn off some of the stress and promote deeper sleep you may want to add light physical exercise during the day - enough to start sweating, but without beating yourself up too much.

Wait, I'm sorry maybe I missed it but.. did you say you went back to raw? Or are you thinking about it? If you have cut out the fast food, and are trying to eat raw it is probably your body trying to get rid of all the nastiness and toxins you have put in there from the fast food.

Our bodies are miracles to say in the least. We can stuff ourselves with poisons and unnatural food, and our bodies will struggle to keep up. Sometimes people even believe they do better with junk food than healthy live food.

If you are eating raw, I'd say stick with it. Try 100% for awhile, but don't give up if it gets worse. Sleeping is a sign your body needs to recover and gain strength.

the guy from the show "supersize me" healed his body by consuming raw live foods after he did that... so no worries you can heal your body.

gifting it complete nutrition (via raw live foods and freshly made juices - i know you were in the fasting thread earlier)... can assist your body greatly!!!

i was soooooooooooo sick before i discovered fasting and raw foods and now i'm soooooooo healthy.

you can do this... you just need to do it is all. the next bite you take... make sure it's raw!

It's miraculous what our bodies can deal with!

This has been one of the biggest revelations to me through the experiments with my body and health. So, if our bodies are truly miraculous with what they can withstand, it stands to reason that they should be equally miraculous in how the respond when you treat them right...and in my experience and observation, THEY ARE! So, don't worry about having done damage to your body. It is reversible. Consider yourself lucky to have figured this out at an early age and start making healthy changes to your lifestyle now. You will be completely amazed at what life looks like through the experience of a healthy body. Best of luck!

I feel like as soon as I got a break, my body pretty much went, "we are shutting this girl down!" And it didn't relay the message to me. I was really perplexed. All sorts of reasons were going through my mind: depression, stress, etc. What's going on?! After a week of eating wholesome food and a long walk, it dawned on me, when I woke up. It's my diet!

I've done fasting, raw vegan, vegan and vegetarian, the whole spectrum. I'm not sure if I want to go 100% raw vegan, but I am definitely focused on eating vegan, exercising and being outdoors. I know that works for me, and it's what I thrived on. Now just to hold on tight while my body goes commando.
